Jackablade: No radio chatter in Anniversary.

Because otherwise I would feel very alone in the middle of the ruins, getting a lonely "myst" effect while playing the puzzles.
That's exactly what I've missed from every 'Tomb Raider' game since the first: that sense that you are alone in a place that hasn't been seen by anyone alive in many years. I quite liked Legend but less, or no, chatter in certain levels would have made it even better.

Cool. Yeah, I'm with Angel Dust. Exploring for the sake of exploring is exactly the kind of game I want Tomb Raider to be.

I loved Legend for its mixture of action and puzzles, the pace was quite balanced, IMO. I'm replaying it by now. Surely I'll pickup Underworld, as this one seems to be a ride though concepts of afterlife depicted in many different cultures (and finding links between them), sound like fun, even if it's purely fictional concept. The problem is, the game has/will have quite a competition out there: FC2, F3, Dead space.

I thought the atmosphere in Anniversary was pretty awesome, and in some ways made up for the things I hate about the series. Also, if the engine they're using in Underworld and Deus Ex 3 is similar to the Legend/Anniversary one, I suspect any limitations on level size/complexity would be down to the imagination of the level designer, because the levels in Anniversary are often both immense and interesting.

I've never been a TR fan but I'm enjoying Anniversary.

Maybe it's just Koki-glasses but I don't remember the original Tomb Raider being as linear as TR:A.

I thought the headset chatter was annoying too. I wish there was an option to disable it. But I suppose it kinda breaks the story then. Here's hoping Underworld has none of it. ;)

Oh for fuck's sake.
I'm really getting pissed off with people buying up the rights to "Exclusive Content" for specific platforms in multi-platform games.
(
http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/23/tomb-raider-underworld-dlc-especially-made-for-360/) Joystiq: "Tomb Raider: Underworld DLC 'especially made' for 360".
I was definitely going to be buying this for PC, and hopefully over Steam, and then MS go and pull this shit.
Arse.

Yay for DLC content!
