Tonight, I will be wearing black... and a funny hat. (much funnier than you thought!) - by Digital Nightfall

It won't be my usual funny hat either. It will be one of these deals.

http://www.digital-nightfall.com/gradcap.jpgArchitecture students get purple, which pretty much ensures that the tassel will be locked in a chest at the bottom of a ravine as soon as I am done... unless I want to go as Graduate Joker to Halloween next year.
I started on my sick and demented crusade to gain an M.Arch. about six years or so ago, and I decided that when I was finished, I would make a decision. I wanted to go into game design, but architecture seemed like a more sensible career. Well, now that school is over, it seems clear. Game design is a much more sensible career! This degree is not a mandate for what I have to do. It's a passport to what I want to do.
What's also cool is that I can sum up all my work for the past years in just a few links. Those portfolios came in handy, and a membership to flickr.com is also very handy. Rather than ask people to download 200/300 meg PDF files if they want to see what I've done, or making me spend more countless hours editing it all into a website, it's now all packaged in cool fast-loading flickr-run slideshows!
My Pre-Architecture Portfolio from 1999 - 2004 (includes dromed work): (

Advanced Design, 2007: (

My Study Abroad Daily Journal: (

And finally, my Master's Thesis Document: (

Now the challenge will be to get across the stage and grab my not-actually-a-diploma without being seen. I'll take a few flashbombs in case I mess up.
Edit -------------
Bet you didn't think the hat was going to be this funny looking?

You've got that right. Congrats and good luck. The education you chose may actually help you, and a lot. Just remember game design is mostly about the moving parts. Buildings don't move nearly as much as players.
