I've put a lot of work to get those animations working. I feel dissappointed, knowing you don't like them (or don't appreciate them).
Where did anyone say they didn't appreciate them or the work you put into them? That's not what is being said at all. What IS being said, is that while you as the creator feel it's an improvement, the player is saying...no, this doesn't work as well as you think it does. That's all it is. When I worked on Minimalist Project, I cranked the AI difficulty up to extremes and it took me awhile to take my ego hat off and actually realize that the players were right.
The 3rd person animations just don't work well in first person perspective. They weren't made to be used in that way. They're made to look and be actiony from 3rd person, but when you put them in first, they toss the camera around. Thief isn't about fast action, so the 'more alive' movement your championing here isn't really beneficial. Thief isn't a fast action game. It's slow and methodical and needs tight control. Third person animations don't allow this.

I will tweak all starting bones. This way, the "alive" feeling and smoothness of the animations is remained, but there will be no extreme "camera jerking" (as you call it). I will also keep all movement animations as they were originally.
This is how far I will dampen my animations, and no more.
is there no way to 'lock' all the relevent 'bones' so its more like T2 in 1st person..?

Well, New Hoirzon, I said I'm going to put a majority of the animations back like original. So, I guess I can listen with my 2 ears. I will send the updated MOD to Clearing today or tomorrow
By the way: You managed to fix the uninstaller?

I haven't, yet...but I haven't had a chance to set everything up on a separate computer. Soon.

THANK YOU CLEARING & DURTBAG!
...
OK, animations are tweaked so they come close to what all of you want. See? I can listen. So, do you (with "you" I mean everyone who read this) like my MOD more now? I hope you do.
Asa reminder, this is what I changed to the anims to make you happy:
-Blackjacking's starting bones has changed - No headbob, but still more realistic than before (Now the left arm moves a bit as well).
-Dagger is the same as my MOD, but slightly tweaked.
-running, crouching, and walking animations are almost the same as the original.
-BOW anims is still slow, but faster than the previous MOD, and also without headbob.
-Leaning is twice as fast.
-Camera anchoroffset is now at actorheight0.05 instead of actorheight0.1
Hope you like it.
Regards,
Tony W Ayalew.
