Since I installed a new monitor I notice that FMs and certain graphics seem darker than they should be. For example, I was looking for something in one of my own missions and it was so dark I had to turn the gamma way up.
Is there a standard or some kind of calibration I can install to check my video levels?

It could be that Dynamic Contrast is on, this can be a nice feature for movies, but for gaming it can become annoying.
If you're using an Nvidia card I'd also recommend downloading a tool that unlocks full RGB for your monitor. Nvidia cards are usually limited to 16 - 235 colors where 0 and 255 are black and white, meaning you're not getting every color you should get. This is an odd issue with nvidia cards but after using the tool your dark levels will look much better. A simple google search of 'Nvidia full rgb fix' would probably do.
After you've installed the tool, find a pitch black image on the web and adjust your monitor's contrast and brightness so that it really does look pitch black. But don't lower the brightness even more when the black image is not getting darker anymore, because that's when you've found the right brightness.
For my samsung monitor the best settings are Contrast at 100 and brightness at 45.
Oh, and sometimes monitors have a gaming mode as well. I recommend you to use this as it may disable all unnecessary features and it may lower the response time :thumb:
Hope this helps!
