Pleaded with Kuuso to stop playing DOTA 2 and eat some food, etc...

Or you can wrap your life around gaming as a whole and do a master's thesis on streaming, so every time you play you do it for *research*! (I must admit I haven't played Dota2 since The International at least so that is almost half a year)

Your hands must have been like claws dude :)
I remember spending an inordinate amount of time playing Worms with a friend of mine on the PSX one summer. One day, we noticed we were eating lunch together and were taking it in turns to take a bite of our sandwiches, sip our drinks etc... It was genuinely a bit worrying.

I always feel like I'm completely missing something when I see people clocking
hundreds of hours playing The Binding Of Isaac. Maybe I need to give it another try or something, but I just got bored with it extremely fast.
I know what you mean. Some people clocking >300 hours, christ... how do you not get bored?
Ok my turn:
Dragon Age: Origins - 64 hrs on record
Fallout: New Vegas - 37 hrs on record
Mass Effect 2 - 34 hrs on record
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - 31 hrs on record
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - 28 hrs on record
BioShock Infinite - 25 hrs on record
XCOM: Enemy Unknown - 23 hrs on record
Alpha Protocol - 22 hrs on record
Team Fortress 2 - 21 hrs on record
Torchlight - 21 hrs on record
Though if it included games outside of steam/before steam counted, then Day of Defeat (3.1b) would probably be way on top from my clan days. VTMB should be high on the list as well (5 playthrus), as well as TFC.

Yeah, I've played an MMO through Steam, so that's top:
1: DC Universe Online - 495
2: Skyrim - 400
3: Civilization V - 284
4: Fallout New Vegas - 215
5: Divinity Original Sin - 148
6: Kingdoms of Amalur - 147
7: XCOM Enemy Unknown - 144
8: Wasteland 2 - 126
9: Deus Ex Human Revolution (combined vanilla and Director's Cut) - 98
10: Dishonored - 93
If it tracked third party games, those would all shift down several notches thanks to other MMOs I've played. And Diablo 3.
If I was to guess, first would be the original Guild Wars, followed by Guild Wars 2, Age of Conan, and Diablo 3. Don't even get me started on Sims 3.
And for Skyrim, it feels like a lot of that time was spent fighting crashes introduced by various mods!
Could have sworn I'd put more time into Dishonored though.
I think you can safely say I like an RPG.
Edit: Just noticed it lists Human Revolution and Director's Cut separately; combined time on those is 98, putting Deus EX HR at number 8 and dropping Dragon Age off the list.

It's the extreme randomness. Even the randomness in this game has randomness. Everything in the game has variations and/or combinations. For example (and there are many many more like it), here are the rules for poop spawns (destroyable room decorations):
Quote:
* Any given poop has a 1/40 chance to spawn as poop with flies (which turn into enemies when poop is destroyed)
* Some rooms spawn poop with flies intentionally
* Any poop with flies has a 1/20 chance to spawn as golden poop
* Golden poop spawns:
- Counterfeit penny with 1/3 chance
- Otherwise between 5-8 coins
This coupled with the fact that new things get unlocked gradually ensures not only that every playthrough is unique, but also that you'll be seeing new stuff even after thousands of playthroughs.

Yeah, each time I finish it or get killed and I have some spare time, I just fire it up again knowing that I have zero clue how it'll play out. It's the general appeal of rogue-likes to people who like them, but with Isaac, it's combined with a very cool aesthetic and a more exciting shoot 'em up vibe. I expect I'll lose at least another 100 hours to Rebirth.

If WoW had been on steam it would easily be no.1 on my list. Pumped 5 years + month or so on the original beta into.
