WTF? The website said it was going to be called "Preditor". Now it's called TorchEd? What a waste of a fantastic terrible pun!

preditor was actually trademarked already I believe.
btw, anyone can install the editor, you can use it and even try out stuff you built without having the actual game I believe.

What's the appeal of this game after the boss fight?
Eldron on 11/11/2009 at 22:55
yeah, its not like roguelikes and its offspring are know for their replayability...

I love roguelikes, but Torchlight is far from one and while I enjoyed playing it through, I feel zero urge to try again with another character. It's just bland (its predecessor, Fate, suffered from the same problem), and offers little reward for progression other than new skills now and again. Maybe that's enough for some people, but not for me (at least, not any more).
Hopefully someone will turn it into a proper roguelike and when that happens I don't think I'll ever stop playing it.

there's not even an appeal to play until the bossfight. it is just appealing to play it at all.
click, win, click, win, click, win, loot, loot, loot -> go to start
best way to pass time and make time forget. it's like peggle. it works.
I just stopped because of DragonAge and now stopped DragonAge because of STALKER. I surely will go back and beat the last boss and go into the endless dungeon to get the ultimate loot I can then inherit for my next char.
Also I played the game in its first version and it was pretty bugged so I wanna replay it proper (and using mods fixing the broken enchantements)

Patch 1.12b (from Runic Games) is now out that does just that. The patch version for WildTangent is 1.12, they added everything in to the same patch.

"Preditor" was a perfect name for the editor for "Prey", but I'm missing the relevance of the name to this game. Is there any? (n.b. I haven't played it). If not, it's basically just a word that happens to rhyme with "editor", which surely isn't particularly clever? ("Torched" seems like a
much better fit.)
