Yeesh indeed! Near the end (page 8) of the Diary of Setra Pitall it says
"Only by allowing me to finally rest in peace will they ever find what I’ve taken to my grave with me."
Now that is what I call a really obvious clue! It only applies in Expert.
I blew up the zombie with the flies -- though the flies disappeared as soon as I shot the first water arrow -- and there was still nothing in the Pitall grave. What am I missing?
Also, you wrote something about a "cement structure with two pressure plates." Is this the thing with the remains of a campfire on it? And where did you find pieces of a statue to put on the plates?
I'm guessing that depressing both pressure plates simultaneously opens the door at the end of that corridor. But I don't recall seeing any pieces of a statue; do you remember where you found them?
Thanks,
There's a small chapel at the far end of the hallway from the kitchen. In this chapel is an altar with a couple of pressure plates on it. There's also a note on the altar that attempts to explain how not to use the pressure plates. IIRC, there's a Chapel Key. Don't recall where it is though. And there are some statue bits in this chapel also.
Also, when you wacked that fly-boy zombie there should have appeared a scroll at his grave with the combination to the library safe. The Chapel Key may just be in that safe. You should be able to get back up into the kitchen with a Rope Arrow into the underside of the shelf above the sliding crypt access. I may have stacked potion vials or something to be able to reach the rope.
Then I am so bloody lost, I may as well join la Legion Etranger.
At the far end from the kitchen I find only a door. It's shut, and I can't open it. If I jog left a little, I find the big chapel with two spooks opposite the library. In the big chapel, there is an altar with the gold skull you're not supposed to frob, and behind the altar the plate that will open when I open the library safe (supposedly), but I don't see any pressure plates.
As I said, I killed the fly-covered zombie. No scroll. I'll try again, I suppose... though boy, is he hard to kill: three holy water arrows.
And I can't find the mask in the crypt area, either. I can't seem to do anything!

That door at the far end of the hallway from the kitchen is the small chapel with the pressure plated altar I'm talking about. Not the chapel with the golden skull. But, like I said, there's a Chapel Key to unlock that door and get in there. And it may very well be that that Chapel Key is in the library safe. So this all may hinge on getting that zombie to cough up the safe combination and your getting back up top with it.
I'm not absolutely sure about the whereabouts of that Chapel Key. It may be freely available somewhere else.
I might have started on the zombie with a Fire Arrow. There are some down in the graveyard, I think. Then when they crowded around him the Holy Water included some splash damage. I also did all this from above where they couldn't attack me.
You're just having a bad day, guy. It happens. When asked by the prince for something that would pick him up when sad and cool him off when happy, the mystic thought for a bit and replied "This too shall pass."

I managed to get hold of the #$*$&! Chapel Key, but not without a struggle. When I killed the zombie, the scroll did appear... but it was floating over the grave, and it was dark, and I was looking IN the grave and missed it.
I picked it up this time, but a few minutes later, me still sitting in a dark spot waiting for everyone to cool off, I was suddenly dumped back to the desktop! I reloaded (from after the attack) and tried again and again, but it did it every time... even when I exited quickly into the crypt area.
So I had to reload from before I did stuff, go to a different part of the boneyard, and try again. This time, I was able to let the zombies chill without being unexpectedly introduced to Windows XP.
I got the Chapel Key from the library safe, but the panel in the (big) chapel with the haunts didn't open, as I thought it would. I used the Chapel Key on the door at the opposite end from the kitchen and entered the small chapel. I have discovered that if I dump a hunk of masonry on the left pressure plate, I am teleported to a spider-infested spot with the altar for the eye... but despite the voice telling me to plant the eye and flee, I can't figure out where to flee to... so I just run around and around in circles until my fingers get tired, then I stop and get eaten by spiders. Sigh.
This is definitely not a "ghost friendly" FM.
Okay, the eye and the spiders. You've got to use the eye and not drop it. Then there's a panel that moves aside revealing a square opening you can exit through. For me, it was in the far left corner from where I spawned.
help
Killed all the zombies but I did not get a scroll. I am assuming the scroll appears above the grave that is open and has flys around it. No scroll anywhere. You gotta kill the zombie with the flyes also. right?
this game is killin me.

Pale - depends on the difficullty
In Expert (or whatever its called) the scroll appears above the grave after you've killed the zombie with the flies. In lesser difficulties you don't need to kill him, and it's in the grave. -
Dafydd
to amplify what Old Man says, use the eye like a key. When you re-emerge, go to the library and read the book again (yes, I know!) and then you will be able to get the sceptre from the altar in the big chapel.
