I love this mission! A toughie though!! The zombie archers in the graveyards are nasty bastards. Can they be killed like other undead creatures? Also, I read from books in the St. Torner Cathedral that a novice is buried with his journal. I think it contains the code to the lockbox in the library. Am I supposed to Get the novice's book?

I think, on the English version of Torner that
the code is right by the grave, on Normal, anyway. I think on Expert that you still have to destroy the zombie that's wandering around in a cloud of flies. Use Holy water or fire arrows. After that, the code should be over by his grave. It's the only one with a headstone that you can read.
Hello metal dawn,
there are two ways to get rid of those zombie archers. Either you defeat them exactly like other zombies or
you try to use a little bug that often happens with the zombie archers. If you attack them with your sword (best way is to sneak behind them and give them a few hits) they freeze after a few hits. They will still moan but no longer attack. But pay attention not to walk too close to them because they are also able to 'defrost' ;)
You are right with the code and the grave. To get the code you need to
kill the zombie with all the flies around roaming the graveyard. Beware - he's a really tough guy... :eww: After killing him search near the grave of Pitall for the code.
Edit: Oops, hey Nightwalker, I gave all I can and nonetheless you are faster...
I should stop matching with a wunderkind :cheeky:

Is there a lot of undead in this one?
maloo on 6/8/2004 at 23:09
yes in the church area

Is there anything particularly special about Humbert's room? I don't see why you need to find a key just to see a empty room fully of zombies (sorry if this sounds snide). Also, I noticed that there is a small door (resembling that of a safe) on the back of the altar bearing the First Brother's Skull. Can you give me a hint or two on how to open it?

Humbert's room:
Have you been down into the hidden area in the Master of Science's house? There's a little girl zombie down there and you get new objectives. One of them involves finding her doll for her. It's underneath a barrel in the room full of zombies.
Altar:
There are several things you need to do before you can get that open. You need to get the combination for the safe in the Library, open it and read the book. You then need to take The Eye and use the key you found in the safe to get into a small chapel that is at the far end of the hallway from the kitchen (where the zombie patrols). There's a pressure plate in there that teleports you to another spot where you can use the Eye. Once you've gotten back, return to the safe and read the book inside. Go back into the Church and the altar safe will be open.
Sorry if this is more information than you might have wanted but it's kind of hard to just hint about this part. :)

I'm sure lack of sleep has just gotten to me and that's why I can't complete the final objective, which is 'the scepter and the mask have to be taken out of the monestary. Is there a specific exit you need to use perhaps? I couldn't find a way out of that hole so I whipped out a rope arrow and left the way I entered. :erm:

NightTerror, you need to
go back to the graveyard of the monastery. On the graveyard you can find a hole on the ground - it's hard to see because it's covered with plants. Just jump in this hole and swim into the bigger cave. Then the mission should end.
Ah ha! I think Garrett's going to have a cold by the time he gets out of this mission. He was swimming around the docks when I saw your post, then he went running through the rain and leapt into some more water. :) I know a wee bit of German and I think I want to say danke! :) I think that's German for thank you, anyways. :erm: I should thank Nightwalker too. Though she was probably sleeping it was her posts that helped me get to the Eye. I went past it I don't know how many times and wouldn't have found it on my own. :)
Damn! I spent somewhere around 4-5 hours pretty much straight on this mission and I still have all the hair I had at the beginning of the mission. It's really fun! :cheeky: Kinda funny luring a ton of guards towards you and knocking them all out, then running down the road and hearing Garrett say something like 'way too much light and way too many guards.' And it seems I killed 25 people. I guess that must've had something to do with my body cache location being at the bottom of the river . . . :ebil::thumb:
