Nobody made a dedicated thread for this (
https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110560) Total Crap FM Contest submission in 2006. After I now replayed it in 2021, I decided to start one. :D
I did not finish Hammerite Hideout on my first attempt more than 14 years ago, but this time I persevered and finally found Tommy's medallion. It is a bit hidden, but there is a hint in the mission which pretty much tells you where it is. I might have missed that earlier.
The mission info file was not updated after the contest, so it still lists the author as "Anonymous". There is, however, a note in Hammerite Hideout that reveals the author as first-time author Cavalorn. His submission is pretty bad, and that means it was perfect for the theme of the contest. Its funniest idea is
the empty safe with an extremely long picking time, a single purse containing 50% of the mission's loot lying on a desk right next to it. :laff: The hard-to-read "book of wizards" was also... interesting.
Hammerite Hideout is essentially a key hunt: You have to find keys to four doors before you can get all the loot in the mission and Tommy's medallion. That part was surprisingly normal. If you find yourself stuck, here are some spoilers:
* Door to the left of the starting area:
The silver key for it is hidden behind the sarcophagus nearest to the starting point.* Small wooden double door in a low tunnel:
The red key for it can be found on the skeleton crushed by a giant hammer.* Door at the end of a dark tunnel where an apparition patrols:
The red key for it is hidden inside a sofa in a room where an undead riddled with arrows is lying on the ground.* Door in a room where an undead riddled with arrows is lying on the ground:
Found on a pedestal in the west of a large hall with high bookshelves and three undead.Hints for the medallion:
* Hint #1:
Near the body of Tommy.* Hint #2:
There is a hard-to-read book in the toilet which tells you where Tommy is.* Hint #3:
Tommy is the dead man pinned to a wall in the toilet with a sword through his chest.* Spoiler:
The medallion is atop the wall in the middle of the toilet, above where Tommy is pinned to the wall.
