My girlfriend, who has just recently discivered Thief: Dark Project, has played all the missions up to Undercover on my computer. However, we moved for a vacation to her parents' home, and installed Thief there as well, so that she could finish the game, so I've transfered the savegame files to there. This is the same CD, using the same 1.33 patch and the same unofficial model/texture patches, but the game doesn't recognize her former saved-game files (I'ved checked, these are the files she've saved on my computer, their "last modified" dates match the times when she've played Thief).
The game can save new savegame files and load them later, but it can't identify the SAV files I've transfered from my computer.
Her computer is an Intel Pentium IV 1.5GHz, with 256MB RAM, Riva TNT2 Graphics Card, AC'97 Audio Card, running WinXP with SP2 installed.

I'd like to know the answer to this one too. Sometimes during testing I send savegames to the author and/or other testers. Most of them can play them OK, but one or two can't. Something is different, but what is it?

I've never encountered this. I have burned the Save games on a CD and transferred it to a different computer 30 or 40 times over the years.
You need to REMOVE the SAVES folder from the Thief main folder and just COPY the entire Saves folder into the new computer Thief.
Or leave the installed Saves, and then COPY/PASTE the entire contents, including User config into the folder.
Both methods have worked for me with all 5 versions of THIEF. TDP 1.14, 1.33, Gold ver 1.37, TMA 1.07 and 1.18.
