Lady Rowena, she nor her creations were the first fan missions I have ever played, but her missions, especially Rowena's Curse, were the first that inspired me to play all the possible fan missions out there.
She has made the highest quality fan mission I could have ever seen, I've been playing plenty famous and new ones over the years now, but none have ever beaten hers, Rowena's Curse.
That mission really made you feel on your toes, it was scary, it was incredibly scary that I didn't even expect it at all. I did play Thief 1 and found a lot of its missions scary, but here goes Lady Rowena and outperforms T1's scariest, the Cathedral itself. It is a huge achievement.
Her other missions, The Tower, The 7 Sisters...I regret to say I never finished The 7 Sisters, yet the premise was very good. I should replay it one day.
The Tower was great, another perfect fan mission of hers, yet she didn't outperform her own Rowena's Curse with it.
I did not know she died until I've read about this upcoming mission of hers called Home Sweet Home.
I should play that too, even if it's unfinished.
Everything this woman makes, at least in Thief, was a Legend to be heard.
Thank you, Lady Rowena, for making these missions.
I will also not forget a PM she send me when I was bold enough to request a friendship with her;
"I'm glad that you think that my mission was scary, I hope you liked it anyway. Thanks for playing."

The mission is part of a campaign, and the other missions were not completed (at least that we know of). But the mission itself, Home Sweet Home, is 100% complete and released. You should definitely check it out.

Thank you for this tribute thread. Lady Rowena was an incredible artist. I will never forget her contributions, for sharing with us her talent and allowing us a peak into her incredibly colourful and creative mind. God bless.

Yes, we are testing the same mission now. Does being stuck in the same spot in the mission mean that we are somehow like-minded? Hehe, just kidding. But it's been a great pleasure to give you some tips there.
I wanted to make a fan mission called "Dewdrop Quest", in which you play as downwinder who is celebrating his birthday with you, Cardia, skacky, Yandros and other people from the forum. But unfortunately an evil necromancer breaks into downwinder's house and steals Dewdrop. He also kidnaps you. So in this mission you need to break into the necromancer's lair, retrieve Dewdrop and free Gloria Creep. I lack Dromed skills, but I hope I can make it for downwider's birthday next year. Would you like to be featured in the mission?
As regards Lady Rowena, do you rememeber that part in "The Tower", in which you were not supposed to kill the pregnant woman? I found this objective beautiful, Lady Rowena was such a sensitive person.
That would be awesome!!! :thumb::cool::D

Was Rowena's Curse scary? Hm, I've seen much scarier missions. But it's definitely one of the top 10 missions ever. Last night I played it for the first time. My favourite part is the underground section with baddies and zombies. Downwider and Gloria, look how many baddies I slayed :P.

If you do it on Expert and attempt to Ghost around the building, then realize there were notes that you never saw and find out they were new as well as that they directly speak to you...
Of course it's scary.
The uneasy feeling that somebody, or even an entity (yeah yeah, I read too much Lovecraft and Poe) is actually watching you and knows everything you do is unnerving.
Seems that Rowena didn't mean to make it scary though.

to be honest you dont even need to hurt them,once you beat rowena in mission they all die automatically
and i never though about trying to atk them when i played my run through as it was obvious to me it was a ghosting portion
but good job was it regular sword?

I just downloaded Home sweet home... and I just learned that she passed away :(:(
I didn't even personnaly know her but I did talk to her on this forum about how I was amazed by The 7 Sisters. She replied and was happy about it.
I'm sad to learn this news. :( I will always keep her living by traveling Garrett through her creations.
Rest in peace, Lady Rowena.

I had just finished playing through the 7 Sisters, and wanted to play more of Lady Rowena's fan missions when I noticed there was a long period of inactivity between The Tower and Home Sweet Home. I should have known something was wrong but I thought people get busy with their personal lives all the time and thought nothing of it. Then, out of curiosity, I decided to look for a video of Version 1 of the campaign (as I vaguely remember playing an earlier version of 7 Sisters when it was released), couldn't fine one but stumbled upon another video where the gamer said the mission was made by the "late" Lady Rowena!!! I paused the video right there to see how true this was, and it broke my heart to learn it was accurate.
She was a truly talented woman and her level design skill and storytelling were quite unique. May she rest in our hearts forever. :angel:
