The first Trine was brilliant fun - a good old fashioned platformer with lush graphics and a stunning soundtrack.
Now there is a second one coming out!!

Oooh, a new trailer!
Looks good, as did the first one.
Still looking forward to this. The original Trine was a magical experience.

Damnit. There are too many good games coming out these days. Right now, I'm playing through Deus Ex, I've got Renegade Ops next up on the queue, and sooner or later, I'm gonna want to get to Bastion.
Sigh. Unfortunately for me, I don't have any other choice but to add Trine 2 to that list of must plays. The original was one of my personal favorites of the year, only barely edged out of the top spot by Bionic Commando Rearmed. And now here's the sequel. Looking bigger, funner, and all around better than the original. Damn them. I don't know where I'm gonna find the time to play all these games. I've already had to do some creative rescheduling just to get DX in.
I don't know what to do. :(

Heavy is the burden of the hardcore gamer. :(

Heavy is the burden of the hardcore gamer without any time.
...sometimes I wish I did end up taking that lucrative job at McDonald's. I guess I didn't see the opportunity when it was in front of me. Now I live a life of regret. :(

And the year marches on. I never did get that job at McDonald's, but there is one thing I did get...
Trine 2!
How this game seemed to just suddenly come out without anyone knowing about it, I have no idea. But hey. It's out, and I'm downloading it now.
I blame you all for not talking about it more.
edit: 7 minutes left. WHY IS IT TAKING SO LONG :double mad:
edit 2: 32 seconds? GRRRRRRRRAAAAWWWW :so mad:

Having found out about self-levitation Im already done with the game after one play-through. They better had done a more-to-the-letter copy of the Lost Vikings concept and they wouldnt have ended up with such a broken game design.
That said they also replaced most of the charm of Trine 1 with cheese as far as story telling, characters and general atmosphere go. Even the soundtrack is lacking in comparison.

Having just finished Trine 2, I disagree with pretty much everything that Gvodzika says above.
It took me about 10 hours to finish the game, possibly a bit less, but I've still got some things left to discover and I intend to play it again soon. Of course I do wish that it had been a bit longer, but I wouldn't really call it too short either. I didn't find out how to self-levitate (perhaps they've fixed it?), I thought it could be done by creating two objects and then trying to lift the bottom one while you're standing on the top, but that doesn't seem to work.
In my opinion Trine 2 is everything that Trine 1 is, but better in just about every way. The only thing that I missed from Trine 1 were the equippable items that you found in hidden chests, I would have loved to see those again. I preferred the more colourful and magical world of Trine 2, it really is like a playable fairytale. I don't think I've ever seen a game as gorgeous as this, some of the areas look truly stunning. The enemies are more fun than the boring skeletons in Trine 1, and the puzzles are a lot more versatile too. And I know that I've already praised this game too much, but I thought that even the soundtrack is absolutely wonderful, it fits the atmosphere just perfectly.
They've also just released six new missions for the game in the Goblin Menace DLC. Has anyone played it yet?
