I've dated a nun before. It was kind of fun. I didn't walk her back to the monastery much though, so the other nuns wouldn't see us. But nothing wrong with it.

Depends on how flexible you are.

I've never seen a nun I would want to look at, so that puts a damper on the possibility of me dating one.

Now I'm interested.
Was she ordained? A novice? Was the double play a problem for her? Or you? Was sex involved? How did the relationship end? Did she stay a nun?

This one was very cute. Her smile could light up a room.

I don't really know what's formally involved with this and shouldn't venture a guess.
But she apparently did everything by the book, and would often go into great detail about all the little formal details involved she had to keep.
Yes, if I understand it right. There are levels and she was at the entry level (though prided herself at being as scrupulous or more than the highest level nuns, and often criticized the higher nuns for their lapses.)

I don't know what double play means in this context.
I understood that everything was perfectly legit.
In the relationship?
YesIn the religion?
Also yes, it can be :)

Amicably. We just graduated and went off to different cities. She's now a tax lawyer, but I believe still associated with a temple. She's ... unique.
I brought this up curious to see if people would fall into the same kind of blind-spot in that "female doctor" joke. Who said nuns have to be Catholic? She was a Buddhist nun in the Tibetan tradition, with quite a bit of Vajrayana (i.e., Tantra) influence. Sex is actually permitted and at times even encouraged, not just for procreation but also for pleasure and as a form of spiritual liberation; it's a religious rite. There are vows of chastity nuns can take, but they don't have to, at least at her level, and she didn't. The ultra short hair was also a pretty cute look for her.
Edit: More than that, I also actually think she may have gotten into the relationship, in part, as a form of religious compassion or service, since I had been down from a previous break-up, and the Buddhist thing to do is to serve a person that's down and show them compassion, preferably through the same instrument that brought them down, as a vehicle to free them from suffering or get them on a path to that end, in this case through intimacy.

I hate to say it but I completely agree.
