Regardless of its technical accuracy (It's Tron after all.) this looks like a very good sequel film. Jeff Bridges is in it, Daft Punk making the music and the framing story works well to show their respect and then do something new with it. It does sidestep the Tron 2.0 game completely, but that's forgiveable. While it was a great game, the story wasn't one of its strong points.

What? I was genuinely asking what he meant. It did occur to me that he might've been trying to say "rather", but even with that correction the sentence doesn't make a whole lot of sense. "And yes writing "movie" is rather scary." Hence me asking what rater was.
Weren't you just accusing me of jumping to conclusions, eh Dethtoll? Pot, kettle, black.

Oh Jesus. Martin probably meant to put his quotes around "tech movie" and not just "movie", as mocking the technical accuracy of Tron was his whole point. Because of this mistake ZB assumed that Martin was denying the fact Tron was actually a movie. Hence "scare quotes". It's not even a movie! Oh my!
Martin didn't catch up on what ZB meant and replied with an ironical rebuttal just in case: "And yes writing "movie" is rather scary."
Enough explanation? Back on topic?

Yes, please. Ambient IQ levels around this thread just went a-plummeting back there.

Yeesh. I'd go for the PC. Mac looks like a cross between a living china doll and the Borg queen. :p

Wasn't really looking forward to seeing Tron getting raped, but that trailer is fantastic. Also, finally a feature film where the use of CGI isn't completely and utterly retarded.

Overly generalise much?
Jason Moyer on 23/7/2010 at 16:15
All the time, why?

Oh, just checking if I needed to take that CGI barb seriously. I mean, seriously.
