I'm trying to have a painting on the wall that translates vertically down into a hole in response to camera's alarm, revealing a turret behind.
Rigging the painting to the camera worked fine, but I have two problems that I'm seriously stumped on:
1. The painting makes no sound when it moves - how to add a nice rumble schema?
2. The actual "painting" part of the painting gets this big black square over it until the painting moves, if it's anywhere near the wall. If I move the painting away from the wall this seems to fix it but obviously this isn't an ideal solution.
Any idea how to fix these, and #2 in particular? Otherwise I'll be stuck using a banner instead.

1.Check out your Door.Sch, you can open it with notepad, or notepad+ DoorType Slide1, or you can use almost any sliding type door, and just change the .wav, ogg, or what ever format you want to use.
2.Under properties of the object remove "Blocked Vision" If you made your painting door as a child of the archetype, then you will find the option of "Blocked Vision" under "Translating" Just uncheck"Blocked Vision" and that will remove the Black silhouette.

Adding onto MM's comments -
1. And to use one of those schemas, you need to add Schema > Class Tags to the painting and set it to something like "DoorType Slide1" or "DoorType Slide2sm". I doubt you're wanting to use a custom sound file.
2. You also will have to portalize or optimize after unchecking "Blocks vision".

"TTLG: we ARE the missing Dromed manual."

The LGS docs are on your CD. The NewDark docs are in the zip. There are tutorials in the (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131800) Tutorials overview thread and at (
http://dromed.whoopdedo.org/) The Dromesday Book. Not to mention demo missions out the wazoo. But you still have to take the trouble to read them all and then try and follow the instructions. Take ownership of your own education!

I've used the dromedtu doc but until today I never noticed the documents and cow files in the docs\official folder. :o
