For those having this issue, does starting DromEd as Administrator have any effect?
intruder on 4/6/2010 at 20:32
I'm running DromEd and Thief as admin all the time and it doesn't seem to help (I tried it without the admin-setting too, but the result was the same, a 50 : 50 chance that NVScript works or not).
Nameless Voice on 4/6/2010 at 20:35
50:50 chance? That reminds me of the old days of DromEd 1 when using mission-specific scripts gave you a 50:50 chance of having the convict script from convict.osm or the convict script from the mission-specific .osm.
That was really 50:50 though - it would always use the scripts in a new order each time you went into game mode, or something, so it worked "right" every second time.

I sure hope you can figure this out. I'm heavily invested in the NV scripts, and shudder at the thought of trying to replace them all.

I have no idea about DromEditing, but in case the problem is about the file being locked,
you might want to try (
http://www.filehippo.com/download_unlocker/) 'Unlocker'
It shows you which process is locking the file and allows you to unlock the file again.
Ever had the situation where you could not delete a file you just created or copied ?
The stupid Windows Explorer sometimes locks files for NO OBVIOUS REASON.

If this works, one could think about incorporating this feature into DDfix (if possible) ...

I confirm. I used to keep this little tool on my old PC and the situations in which I had to unlock files locked by explorer.exe with it were not rare. It's a pitty that on XP 64-bit which I use these days I can't manage to launch this application :( Probably it wasn't designed for 64bit systems or something.
LarryG on 23/6/2010 at 20:42
The author of the utility states that it is not 64-bit compatible at this time, but intends to make it so at some time in the future. IIRC there may be an alpha test version somewhere which is 64-bit.
Update:
from the unlocker changes website ((
http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/#changes) Unlocker 1.8.9 - 8/3/2010)

From a x64 stand point, it took me a couple of hours to get it fully working on my machine. I still have to sign the driver which might require a lot of paperwork, but hopefully it will not take long. For the impatient kind, I can provide (
http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/Release64.zip) alpha versions :)

Thanks Larry, I didn't notice. There is hope that 64bit things could be unlocked too :thumb:
Sorry for pulling the thread a bit off topic.
