Oh FFS, did you look at the date of this teaser trailer?
(
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLSbAFzxkb0) 16th July
2008 .
Thanks for getting us excited about nothing.
(Incidentally July 16th is my Birthday.)

The "Summer 2008" at the end is a typo, it's suppose to read 2009. Once again, sorry for bringing this back, but I'm just too damn excited not to say anything.
Read much?

Did you notice the video's upload date on the Youtube page?

"A new "final trailer", as it is dubbed, was uploaded to YouTube on July 16th, 2008, but wasn't mentioned on the project's official website until April 4th, 2009."

My guess is that they threw it up on YouTube too early. Realizing that they were nowhere close to finishing, they refrained from putting it up on their main site. Now that it is almost finished, they finally put it on their sight as of April.
(Though I noticed that they have decided to no longer update the step-by-step progression page. Guess they just want it done.)

As some of you may know Team Gizka, currently reduced in size to one member, has basically paused any work on finishing the Sith Lords Restoration Project.
HOWEVER, three other modders called Stoney, Zbyl2 and SWfan28 have been working on a mod of their own called 'The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod' - and THEY have a (
http://www.deadlystream.com/showthread.php?t=339) public beta ready. It appears to have restored most of what TSLRP was/is going to - buggier at the moment, but with the promise of tweaks and patches as things go on.

Can you say anything about the quality of the work on TSLRCM? I know that Team Gizka was doing a great job, but as you've mentioned already, there doesn't seem to be any progress at the moment. I've read some threads about this on the Team Gizka forums, but they're mostly flamewars by the followers of Team Gizka and the disciples of the Restored Content Mod.

TSLRCM's open beta was released last Thursday, so I must confess that I haven't seen it myself yet! I only checked the site again today.
Edit: though I see Markus Ramikin, who's been active on both forums IIRC, seems to really like the RCM. Quite a few bugs left ATM though obviously.

I'll admit this is kind of a shitty thing to say, but I honestly find the idea of investing so much time and energy into "fixing" someone else's game kind of depressing. The mediocre album rescuer in me kind of understands the appeal, but swapping songs around in itunes only takes a few minutes whereas this project is going on several years now.
