The key to the Dockmaster's house is on top of the fireplace upstairs.

Thanks, now only 155 loot eludes me.

I'm playing on hard. I've gotten quite far into this mission and I would love to finish it. I've broken in everywhere, and cleared out the area. I've gotten the keymaster's key, which I was told can open the safes in Smithe's and Shultz's houses to get the pin numbers. I've been to both safes and the keymaster's key WON'T work, what am I missing????

have you tried the search thread button at the top first? I'm sure there have been posts that could probably help you find some answers. :) If you try that and still cannot find what your looking for, then come to the board and ask your question(s). That's really the best way when playing older FM's. Good Luck! :)

You may be trying the wrong safe in the Dockmaster's house. There's an obvious one, up in the upstairs room but there's another one up inside the fireplace chimney in the sitting room downstairs. The Keymaster's key should unlock that one. Inside this safe is a key that will open the wall safe in Schultz's house.

can't find what I'm looking for. Playing Hard and have everything I need to get into Hammer Bank...however I'm a bit confused about a note I got that said there was another (I think I remember correctly) small Hammer Bank/safe nearby??? I have the walkthru and I can't see anything about reference to where that is found? I've been in all the areas at sometime or other (even though I reloaded and didn't go back there at the time) i.e. the secret passage into bank described as a one-way? Does that mean there is noway out from there at all? So a clarification on these issues would be much appreciated. Thank you. :)

There's only one bank that I'm aware of and there are several ways to get in. The secret passageway is one way in but you can't use it to get out as the doorway closes behind you and there's no lever inside to reopen it. You can still leave by the doors but you'll have to deal with the patrolling guards in the main area outside. Not that hard as there are quite a few shadows, etc. You've probably already been in there. It doesn't look like a bank, just a large Hammer building. There's a doorway that takes you into it right near the spot where you begin the mission. There's also a courtyard with a big clock on the wall. You can get in through a hole above (or below or something like that) the broken clock which leads to the rafters above the bank.

Yes I'm aware of all entries into Bank. :) It's just that note that was confusing me as well as that One-way only note in the walkthru. I was in that area and passed through the Magical area but I had nothing about doing Pedestals at that point although I realized that's where I'll eventually find "Sword". Figured I shouldn't have been there yet...so when I reloaded it took me back elsewhere so that I wasn't in that area anymore and went back out to do other things I hadn't done yet, etc. I've also done a bit of Hammer eliminations much earlier but again wasn't prepared to go all the way since I didn't have necessary items to proceed...however I know I still have many to bring under my control. :D So I guess I'll go investigate...I'm also assuming at some point I'll get instructed to do something about Pedestals and will still find the Mage that's in that room I heard when entering into that area from door that shuts behind you....from another direction into Bank rooms...hmmmm? I guess I'll find something in his room that will say something I'll need to do regarding Magical/Pedestals since I've found nothing else anywhere about it/them...
Thanks again and hope all is well with you and yours. ;)

We're fine, thanks. :)
The pedestals and what you do there are sort of an Easter Egg. There is never any objective or direct clue as to what you need to do there.
The Fire Eater on 26/4/2008 at 02:30
so since I knew where to go, I went...Bonus received. I also used back way into Bank and used broken piece of statue as a stopper. Worked just fine and got in and out without none the wiser. :D I'm not a Master Thief for nothing ya know! :D
So I'm onto the next one again...but stuck, so I'll now go dig up some of those old threads to see if I can find my answers...wish there was a walkthru for these to help out a little here and there. Seems my way thru the back door isn't going to be so easy afterall... :( Went down sewer, but can't find anywhere to go...all gates locked, no opening in water hole, can't find any levers, etc., so I guess I need something from someone topside..like a key or whatever? Oh well...C'ya on the other side. :)
EDIT: bah. :( Read just about every post but didn't get general help I was looking for...apparently however it seems I still need to go around on the streets some first. Message in read-me was a little misleading as it suggested this was the way to go to get started ILO actually from the streets per se. I guess eventually I'll need to get back to this area to find one of the skulls that's located in some Burrick area under these sewers? I still don't understand about finding a lever to open/drop a ladder from someplace nearby...perhaps where that skellie was I found w/note about skull hunt. I looked for a key box or lever all over and I saw none? Playing Hard mode by the way. Does that lever show up after I've done some other things first outside? When I read objectives in selecting game mode, there was quite a bit of info listed but in actual game I only have one so far...find a way to the other side of water..thought it was going to be via sewers. :( So now I guess it's hunt/search and hope I don't get caught too much doing it!!! :D
