I think I'm pretty much finished with this part, but I'd like to finish exploring the whole thing. There is a locked door that goes down a ladder near a generator thing, in the thieves guild area that I can't find a key for. Someone mentioned a locker 4 key, which I don't have. I looked where it was posted here near a spider, but I cannot find it at all. Is this the same key I'm searching for, and if so, where is it. I'm playing on the hardest level, which is Hard. The middle level is normal, which I believe was misposted earlier. Please help.

That locked door will only take you to an area you've already accessed from the other side. It's a shortcut that is available only on the easiest difficulty setting.

I need the hardest level, not the middle level. And if I've been to that area before, I've never encountered that door on the other side. I'm 140 loot short. I'm assuming there is something down there behind that door, but I can't find the key.

On the hardest difficulty setting (which is Expert by the way, not Hard as you stated. I just checked.), you have to work a bit harder for the key but it's not for Locker 4 on that setting, it's #5, I believe. You need to find some flowers (in an apartment off of a high ledge in town) and put them in a vase in a grave. The key appears there afterwards. Unless we're talking about a different door, there's definitely nothing behind it.
If you're looking for Key #4, then you're playing on Hard, the middle difficulty setting and it should be on the pipe in the warehouse.

Never mind. Found out it lead to a room with a fallen beam on the other side. Still 140 loot short though. On to the next mission. :(

I have copied your earlier directions for finding key #4 and I cannot locate it.
I termporialy bypassed the passage down to underground crypts (whatever) and have not gone into church area yet either. However my wanderings took me to the area in back of factory (I'm assuming) and have climbed up on pipes/stairs. Killed one large spider near stairs in back and have climbed up stairs over to where I can see one large spider patroling and one small spider near somekind of object that some steam escapes from. I'm playing "Hard" mode. I have climbed all over everything and I cannot see any key, looking very carefully as suggested.
Initially I tracked the guard back to that area (BJ'd) and went behind a large structure made of metal, mantled up from there and walked over a lot of places, spotting that one spider from there hiding down in a darkened area and shot him from there. From there wandered all over everything and to the other area overlooking from stairway to see other spiders I mentioned. I have not gone into any of the doors either downstairs or up here either as yet. Figured I must be in the right place to find key but I just don't know wherelse to look. :confused: Can you or anyone direct me more specifically please? Thank you. :)
Also, while I'm at it...is there anything of interest in that Church with the nasty note posted by the double doors in front? Will these back doors get me inside easier with less notice, etc. or is the front the only real entry?

I sent you a screenshot of the key location that might be useful, Pat. Have you already been on the submarine? I'm not sure if the key is there before that or not. Never checked, I don't think.
The church only has a front door. You can sneak down almost all the way to the front by creeping through the shadows right in the middle of the aisle. Then read the note (or whatever it is) that's lying on the floor. You'll see where to go after that but you'll have to be quick.

No, actually I haven't gone out to the docks. Know where they are but didn't go any further at the time. Figured I had to do more things first before I tried getting on boat. Don't know anything about a sub yet and I sure didn't spot one from doorway I was hiding in? Only thing I saw was a ship/boat.
Doesn't that sub come later...like maybe in the next chapter? I only have key to a "special compartment" wherever that is guessing it's onboard that boat I saw?
I have all skulls but now not sure what I should be doing first except getting onboard should be the last thing I would think...since it's my way of leaving?
However, I realize I need to find portals/coins to operate, etc. So I guess after I give another look for other key, if not there...it's either go Church or underground?
EDIT: OK I've got the key...it was on a lower pipe that I hadn't seen before as I was looking on higher areas.
Now I have another problem....I went back and into Church...read scroll and noted Altar. I tried going down but fell/died. Then I thought I saw a ladder but turned out to be switch, so fell again. I creeped over to the left corner, opened door, went in. Checked out what turned out to be two rooms, one having a book and a lot of reading to digest, the other some items. Went back out to corner where I originally hid, looking out towards opened Altar. What am I supposed to do...throw switch? Am I supposed to go down somehow or is it a trap only? Where is hidden passage supposed to be? I tried going down passage that's outside on one side of Church but ran into a guard coming up and no way to avoid..so again I got killed...am I actually supposed to go that way? I'm really confused. :(
Maybe I should have gotten on boat instead first before doing this area? Again would appreciate some help cause I'm lost on what and where I need to go/do. Thanks :)

There is a ladder in the hole under the altar. Perhaps in the rush to get down before getting killed, you just didn't spot it. The secret compartment key is one way of proceeding onto another section of Mission 1. You use it on the lower level of the boat you saw at the docks. You can also get there an alternate way but it's a puzzled to figure out. The first step to completing the puzzle is to get into the area under the altar and use the golden skulls.
