Hey Taffers,
I need a hint: I cannot open the Apex Room. Where is the key?
Evidently, I missed something bloody obvious earlier on, because it seems like all the other posts are about what happens *after* you get into the Apex room, and I have most of the items mentioned in those posts.
Spoil me :)

Immortelle

Welcome to the forum! :)
Apex room key:
Have you been to see I. Jones, in the Old Miners' Town? He should speak to you and then the Apex Room key and a map appear on the floor beside him. Perhaps you just didn't notice them.
Thanks for the welcome, and thanks for the hint.
Just when you think you've been *everywhere*....
Anyway, I finished. Making Tracks made my top 10 FM list.
Regards,
Immortelle

welcome to the Forums! Making Tracks is also one of my favorites :)
did you know its part of a FM Series called The Trickster's Gem Mine (TTGM) campaign?
i suggest you play the whole series in order :) here there are:
Errand Boy
Shore Leave/Up Sh*t Creek
Making Tracks
The Trickster's Rift/ElseWhere (Paralex Paradox)
Chasm of the Lost Pt1/Pt2
belboz, the author of the TTGM FM's also remade a version of "A Keepers Training" but it has A LOT more to it, it's also quite fun, it was released right before The Trickster's Rift, but it actually would go before Errand Boy
Next in the series (not yet released)
Strange Happenings At Breachfort
THe Factory
The Metal Tower
Brother Squeeze
Have fun and if you get stuck, just ask, I'm always replaying these missions :)

I saw the latest missions in the series being released - so I went back to the beginning. I working through Making Tracks now - I found the good Dr Jones, but by the time I got to him, I was already almost dead. Now Im being a bit more careful, and might just manage to meet him again.
These missions are huge! Lots of space to explore, and very thiefy. With the rest of the series to play, and more in the pipeline, this could keep me going for the rest of the year.
Down in the Old Miner's Town, get up on the rooftops and look for a hole in one (In the south end, I think, with a grey roof) that you can drop down through into a partially flooded building.
Making Tracks has to be among the top FM's I have played, and I have played all of them as of 7/11/04
Belboz, what an adventurous and wild and crazy time. It was super fantastic!
Played it before when it came out and just finished it again! The different elements of architecture and settings were amazing. Ran around an awful lot, but what a good run. I thought the options were great, i.e., getting the signatures for the key. So many places to explore and they all fit the story nicely.
Haven't seen any of your FM's for too long. Did you go on to bigger and better things? I must be out of the loop, 'cause I haven't heard.
A Fan :cheeky:
P.S. :grr: Just found out your computer had been stolen. By now you should have another one?

Chasm of the Lost Part 1 & 2
