If you are stuck with the ritual: on one pedestal place the golden skull you have in your inventory from the beginning, on another one the head of the nearby statue and on the last one a zombie head that you find in a chest in the barrack (I think). The give head puzzle. :cheeky:

Preno, you reunite the Twin Stars in a later mission :)You gou to travel by dubious magical means to someplace strange, to re-unit the twin stars, then you lose them.

I just finished Making Tracks. Very funny ending! I was looking around for the voices, and then it was like ... 'No way!', and then one rushed me. Really good!
When I was in the temple area, I found the Well Key, and it did not unlock the well grate. The grate lights up to frob, and it clicks when I use any key on it, but it never opened. I was on both sides of the grate, and the key did not work from either. Did I miss something? Or is it a bug? Just wondering.

I think there may be a lockbox for that grate, inside the room, though I'm not sure about that.

yup there is :)

There's a proxy lock box on the front of the well.

I too miss Belboz, he was one of my favorite FM creators. I sent him an email from his last known email address, no response. *sigh* Hopefully someday he will return, maybe when T3 hits.
He's around. I PMed him for help on TTGM 2 last week, and he responded within a few days. In fact I think he's on as I post this.
I just finished "Making Tracks" and I really enjoyed it, except the part where Death calls Garret an idiot. :sly:
Edited to add: Okay, Belboz is NOT on the forums right now, but he was here when I came in half an hour ago...anyway, TTGM is a great series and I'm looking forward to finishing it.

I think you need to read the dates on these posts more carefully. Broken Arts' one, which you quoted from, was made over a year ago. Belboz showed up again quite a few months ago and released a bunch of new missions, for which we are all very grateful.

When I try to play this FM, I get as far as selecting the difficulty level; then, no matter what I select (Normal, Hard, Expert), when I click Start Game, it immediately dumps me to the desktop.
I played it successfully before, but I think that was before installing Windows XP. I just installed SP2, but it still crashed to the desktop.
I had no trouble playing Shore Leave/Up **** Creek just a few minutes ago, so it's not a generic problem playing FMs.
I tried re-downloading it from Jason's site; did the same thing. I tried downloading it from Komag's site (it has a slightly different filename there, with "ttgm-" prepended); did the same thing. I tried running it through Darkloader, and it basically did the same thing -- except instead of dropping me to the desktop, it dropped me back to Darkloader.
What's up with this? Anybody else have this problem? Is it an extraction problem, with some file in the zip being extracted to the wrong folder?

Replaying this after a few years and have approached it from a different angle. Ran into Mr. Jones early on and he started to say something. Since I had a spider on my tail and was running, I passed Mr. Jones by and he only seemed to say about 3 words before I passed out of earshot. I have not rec'd any objectives from him and sorely need the apex room key. Mr. Jones won't speak anymore. Have I hit a bug?

Has the objective to find him ticked off? That may be a clue to whether there is something wrong or not. As for the key, it should be lying on the floor by a map in the spot where you saw Jones. If it's not there, I'd suspect that you'd messed it up somehow and suggest going back to a save just before that point to see if you can get it to work properly.
