Really great mission here, lots of fun. Im trying to find the master key. Also a questiona bout part one, there was a secret door behind a cabinet that I could never open. I look hi and lo, no switches. Whats up with that?

Maximus,
;)
I've not long done that bit and i've forgotten where the switch is, but if youv'e got the scroll that tells you where the secret switches are(the one about it being above his office in his bedroom) that switch also opened that bookcase in normal mode.
Hope that makes sense, it didn't to me until I found it.
I can't find ANY idols playing on Normal; I've been all over the rafters in the Library. Don't even know what the other locations are.
I can't figure out what order the elements go in for the fire talisman
One thing I did, though, was kill every mage except lakluster.
This is a great FM.
Any help is greatly appreciated

criacme: have you been to see the friendly water mage, he will eventually give you directions for finding the idol location on a scroll, that sits atop his desk. i also remember listing locations for the idols on normal and hard earlier in this thread.
for the fire tricky key, goto the fire mages room by the pentegram and read the book to get a page with instructions to get it.

I'm sure I killed the friendly mage without so much as giving him a chance. Fortunately, I have now found
3 idols
. But I still need to know specifically:
what order do the objects go in for the fire key. I have the page you describe. Which point in the pentagram do I place each item?
wild_inferno9 on 4/6/2004 at 22:40
fire key:
try them on the five plates till they disappear leaving glowing gas. each item only works on one plate,
as for the friendly mage, you cant kill him, but after you see him after getting the 4 tricky keys(elemental stones he then disappears but not before hand.) he also holds the 4th idol, so get the fire key first.

Thanks to inferno for sparking my otherwise braindead self into realizing where the idols were.
Nothing bothers me more than a relatively simple puzzle that I can't solve.
If anyone remembers:
What specific points on the pentagram each specific element goes, in order to summon the fire key. There are 282 possible combinations and I simply do not have that kind of patience. Needless to say, my 30 or so combos have not worked yet.
Any help will win my never-ending adulation and thanks.
Are you dropping the elements on the pentagram points? - You should use the element like you would a key on the point. If you use each of the 5 elements on the list (from the book in the next room) in turn on each point until it activates it shouldn't take too long.
what exactly are you you using? do you mean indgredients (like Bone of Crayman, eye of slug, etc) ? there are only 5 ingredients you need to use on the pentagram, there's a book somewhere that tells you (i believe its in the fire mage section,
its on a little table somewhere close to a wall right as you enter the room.
and i dont know exactly if the "points" are where you use them, but youre supposed to use the little
plates
on the pentagram, one ingredient each.
