Thanks ShadowWolf421.
I guess I haven't been to the spider temple yet.
I don't know where the big wooden shaft you are speaking of is. If its where I think it is, it's too dark for me to see in that area. I havn't been to the hammerite compound yet either. All I can see is a Zombie wandering in a circle, some mine cars, and a light that must be up in the shaft. But as far as being able to sink a rope arrow into anything - I'm shooting in the dark. My kingdom for a fire arrow or flare.

You could always look at the maps garrett is carrying, and then use them to find places you haven't been to.

diana:
try adjusting your gamma settings, and maybe play in a dark room .
it might be a little hard to see but it shouldn't be that hard
diana50322 on 3/6/2004 at 15:49
I have, of course, done that. And that's my point. I can see that the map tells me there is a shaft leading up. I have been able to sink some rope arrows into the darkness but since I can't see, when I climb the rope and try to mantel up I fall to my death.
I guess I could try to take a screen shot while looking up there and then lighten it up in PhotoShop Elements but that seems like a lot of trouble just to find I'm in persuit of an undomesticated water foul! (wild goose chase)
If someone could just tell me if, where the map says "shaft leading up", is where I need to go to proceed.
BTW my gamma is all the way up. In-game and monitor. Still bitch black.
EDIT - Alt-f10 to make a screenshot. (I put that there for me, so I can look it up if I forget to check the control settings again.) And I know, I know, I'm the only one in the Thief community not playing T-DS. :tsktsk:

Well I captured a screen shot, tried to lighten it in PhotoShop, still can't see anything but the faint shape of the upper light. No beams.
Belboz: I have enjoyed the portion of this mission that I was able to get into, but I am afraid I will have to call it "quits" at this point. Unless I am wrong, I cannot make progress without getting up into that other shaft. If you find you have to make an up-date to this mission would you please include a flare, a fire arrow, or turn on that one light for those of us (and I may be the only one) who can't see what's up there. Thanks.

Belboz,
It took quit some time to complete your excellent Fan Mission, but it was well worth the time. I have played all three commercial games and probably every FM available on the internet. So I would like to commend you and all your crew for the best commercial grade FM I have ever completed. Keep up the great work. I will be looking for your next mission………. :thumb:

If you turn on the lights it should be easy to get up the shaft.
diana50322 on 5/6/2004 at 03:26
So how do I turn on the lights?
wild_inferno9 on 5/6/2004 at 04:02
if you go through tunnel after mining incampment, on left side with the big machinery will be flipable switches to turn on lights, if you hit spider temple you gone too far. beware zombies and other baddies once lights are on.
