Are you actually "using" the containers on each dish? You don't just sit it down on top.

Thanks, Nightwalker. I'll try that. I seem to remember trying this very thing, though, and the bowls won't "accept" the "using" of the items. I'll give it another whirl.

I am in the first of two missions in this file, Trickster's Rift Gem Mine, playing in Expert. I have placed 12 keys and entered the pin altar room in the Palace of Displacement. I have a problem with the portal.
[SPOILER]I use the two stars in their receptacles, which activates the portal. When I go through the portal, I end up at the bottom of a water-filled, star lined shaft and no apparent way to get out. I am stuck there with only a saved game to get back out.[/SPOILER]
I read in a star information note that if something is not done right bad things will happen. I guess this is it.:eek:
Oh, and I have not yet found three of four proctor weapons. Could my problem be caused by that? I have looked extensively and can find only the fire proctor's sword. If that is it, please give me some hints about the other weapons.
How do I proceed from here, apart from reload a saved game?

The objective to find the Proctor's weapons is supposed to be optional but I had to find them all before the portal would work properly. I took this from an earlier post in this thread by Erluk:

help. cant seem to figure out how to use the objects that you pick up in the first area right after you get out of the waterfall. There is some sort of shaft that I can see leads to other areas but I can't get there. What am I missing?

Actually, on expert, those objectives are not listed as optional. They may be optional on Hard or Normal -- I don't know. Anyway, it looks like this is a bug in the ending of the mission.
[SPOILER]The portal is the end of the mission. If you have met all of your objectives, the mission ends before the last spash. If you have not met your objectives, the end of mission does not check off, so you fall down and are stuck in the water at the bottom with no escape. A fix, should Belboz be inclined, might be to prevent operation of the portal until the objectives are complete.[/SPOILER]
I'm not sure how that could be backed up by the story.
Nice Mission, Belboz:) It kept me entertained for several evenings.

I have placed three keys. I still need to place the fire key in the pyramid fire temple. I have read that I need to enter the top portion via a back route (I think), but I am having difficulty locating this.

the top part is from the mine offices side, the bottom part is you past it on the way to the mine offices, dark area, some steps up to a platform, some zombies wandering around.
