@yxlplig if you would like to help refine the list of "types" or tags as they are called on the wiki, the current list of types are (
http://thief.wikia.com/wiki/Property:FM_Tag) here listed under "allowed values".
At first glance, I would make these changes immediately:
Code:
Guards<
Nobility<
Peasant< The vast majority of FMs have these first three
Holiday< I think this is redundant since there's already "Seasonal"
Spring
Summer
Fall
Winter < A new "Snow" tag might be useful but it's kind of hard to say what season an FM takes place in. Technically you'd have to pick one of the four for every mission
Dusk
Dawn
Nighttime < Many missions take place with minimal light, you could feasibly tag 80% of FMs with these
Easy
Normal
Hard
Expert
Small
Medium
Large < I think "hard" "short" "long" should be enough to denote abnormal length/difficulty
Recently I've been playing all FMs in order of release date. When I resume playing FMs in a couple of weeks I'll try to add some stuff to the wiki as I go. I'm up to June 2000 so far so it would be everything from after that point.

I hate to walk into a balloon party with a needle between my fingers, but... Simon & Garfunkle once sang about people writing songs that voices never share.
I just don't think many are going to find, read, or pay much attention. Such minutiae as whether or not there are nobility or peasants in a mission is not going to influence someone's decision to play an FM.
Years ago, I considered cataloging every FM by world size, number of cells, AI types, and other technical stuff that would only interest (hah!) a Dromeder. And I found some interesting things. Absolute waste of time it would've been. I would've probably suffered some anxiety disorder because no one would have given a hoot.

Well that list of tags I made was stuff that is currently used on the Dark Wiki that I thought should be discarded, for being minutiae as you said. You're probably right though. Perhaps a better use of time would be to keep updating the FM by type thread with the multitude of good missions it is missing. Since that's the only thing of this nature that people use and are aware of.

I'm not really sure what I want out of (
http://sycamoyr.wordpress.com/) blogging about Thief, but I never set out for fame or glory. I just wanted to share my opinion about Fan Missions and maybe give others, who might chance upon reading it, a laugh or two. It's fun for me to play the missions, take screen shots, and muse about what I've found; to make them into full reviews with criteria and ratings would become a chore for me quickly. This would be better left to (
http://thief.wikia.com/wiki/FM:T2_List) the DarkWiki.
After reading the above, and (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124349) following the links, I have come to the conclusion that my work is indeed a miniscule drop in the bucket. I never thought it would amount to much anyways, so no surprise there. No one is going to stop me from blogging about what I'm blogging about, that is of course unless they ask that their mission not be reacted to on my site. I won't post anything, and would remove anything, that offends the artists of the works.
For now my blog is very simple, and will remain as such.

It's true there are loads of missions missing and hopefully we'll get to them in time. We've got quite a lot of updating of sticky threads and FAQs going on at the moment but the Mission by Type one is always on my to-do list. But it's up to people here to post suggestions for that thread.

If something is released for public consumption, the artist or creator has no right to forbid any criticism or praise for their work from that same public. All civilized people have a right to free speech, and it's not controlled by some petty dictator, much less, a gaming hobbyist.
I don't know of anyone in the Thief community who would even balk at someone criticizing their work; we're all pretty laid back. The few snarky criticisms I've seen over the years typically resulted in a challenge to create their own work; otherwise, siddown and shaddup.

I agree. I just wanted to assure anyone who was concerned about it that I had no intent to critique anyone's work by a standard. My only intent is to give my reactions and share the meager screenshots I take whilst doing so.
