Alright; don't anybody laugh, but I got this bug up my .... ermmmm....., anyhow, I threw together a kind of Thief video using Movie Maker. It's still pretty raw, and like an idiot, I used a song that was recorded live. Trouble is, I don't know how to get rid of the applause & screams at the beginning of the song, or at least mute them somehow so they end up sounding like the wind or something. The noise from the audience at the end was easy enough because I just cut that part of it out. Unfortunately, that makes the video end rather abruptly, but oh well. Live and learn, right?
Is there some kind of small program that allows you to do that kind of thing? Be kind; I'm a rank amateur at this (and have absolutely no idea where the sudden ambition to do a Thief video came from). :o

save your project, and close
download windows movie maker 2
open your project
cut the audio at the beginnign at lower its volume/add different audio by dragging it to the point the noise stops

Thanks, KoHaN; I'll give it a try. :thumb:

If you have XP SP2, you already have MM 2.1 so that's not going to help you any. I'd suggest getting a WAV file editor to edit the sound file itself. (
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) Audacity is free and pretty simple to use. I can also massage the sound file for you if you like, just email it to me. (I highly recommend the latest Beta and not 1.2.6, which crashed a lot on me).

Thanks Yandros. Downloading now.
Creating this Thief video is one of those things that for some odd reason is stuck in my head and will stay there til I finish it. Go figure. That kind of thing seems to happen to me now & then. Very odd indeed since after I've finished I realize no one will probably ever see it; but at least it'll be out of my head!

You'd better put it on YouTube or something. You can't tease us all like this!! :cheeky:

Depends on the finished result. Like I said, I've never attempted anything like this before; just got some little bug buzzing 'round inside my head making me nuts!
I'll keep you posted. :D
