I wish there was more to talk about concerning what's going on over at arkane. Or at least, more that I
could talk about...
comments like these aren't helpful for the discussion either. :sly:
The short piece isn't exactly clear on the
'the core project at Arkane Austin'.. Is it 'just' a part of The Crossing he's working on? Or is it a completely new separate project? Could you use your connections and get Raf to give some indication on this matter?
As for the iPhone game, would be nice to see a casual game with some story and/or actual character development intervowen into the gameplay (that is sortof the staple of Arkane at this point). I just hope they don't fall for the trap of assuming that 'casual' means 'lacking in depth'.

Honestly, I'm surprised that we still have a Crossing Anticipation board; especially considering that we haven't heard anything about that game in years.

16 months is "years" now?
Digital Nightfall on 20/9/2008 at 20:09
In internet time, I believe 16 months constitutes an 'eon' ... or maybe an 'epoch' ...
So if the game has no news about it for 16 months, they have committed an epoch fail.

I guess not, but it does fell that way.

Hooray, the possibility of a Bioshock clone with the SS licence! *sarcasm*
I'd honestly still buy a console-ised SS3 though, just as I plan on buying both Fallout 3 and Deus Ex 3, regardless of reviews.

I see some people aren't as good at keeping secrets as I am.

So what's this Rebirth Engine thing all about? Image is reminiscent of SS2 Shodan pic and Rebirth is the name of an SS2 mod...
