Well, the author of SS2 Rebirth does work at Arkane now.

Hooray, the possibility of a Bioshock clone with the SS licence! *sarcasm*
So far I'd trust Arkane to not go too far in the 'no consequences gameplay' direction. Harvey being on board reinforces that, slightly.

Go, go, go unified ammo. :p

The person responsible for the high-poly midwife may get a chance to do it again? This might be the first time I think ratings censors could be a good thing.

Weren't Rebirth Midwives based off of original concept art?

Oh, come on, you didn't like the sexy midwives? You, sir, have no soul.
Also, page 2 midwives are too old, too big, and have more wrinkles than my ballsac.

My buttocks cringed of their own free will.
To be fair, though, if you're willing to somewhat disregard Smith's involvement in IW as well as his apparently unsavory reputation, I suppose something half-decent could easily come of it. I'm quite confident that the mentions of DX (and lack of mentions of IW) are at the very least not entirely unrelated to a marketing scheme, but if you're aiming along those lines and not intentionally trying to fuck up something's gotta turn out right.

Smith was the lead designer on DX. He had a huge part in making DX great.
Changes he made to IW would've been more tolerable had the levels been DX-sized and the tech stable. The simulation was scaled back in every single possible direction. It was the idea of a sequel as a "complete downgrade" that offended a lot of people who played DX, and the shitty performance/middleware integration offended those who never played.

Dark Messiah... unified ammo (mana) and unlimited ammo (any bow) ...
... and women who would make the rebirth midwife look modest ...

Oh yeah, definitely, it's why I said it could easily turn out half-decent. To be honest, it's not IW that makes me cautious about getting my hopes up - once I got over my initial disappointment, I stopped treating it as a sequel and found it an enjoyable title in its own right. What gets me worried is what he did after that on his own, namely BlackSite: Area51, which seems to have gotten him (
http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/blacksitearea51?q=BlackSite:%20Area%2051) little praise if Metacritic is to be trusted.
