well, first thing you do is open up your ini file and triple vis distance, turn off HDR + bloom and the game looks gorgeous.
Tutorial island is boring but even there you can bite your teeth on lvl16 enemies if that's your kind of thing. It felt very satisfying for me to kill them as a lvl3 guy using only the environment (and exploiting the AI a little).
The combat is no button smash on hard (used a harder mod), lvl1 - 20 is pretty tactical, 20 - 40 is you owning everything if you really use all the features of the game (alchemy, proper positioning and proper weapons for different enemies).
Mage is frustrating at the beginning due to lack of magic cards and not enough money to buy them. But every build has a sweet spot where it pays of.
I agree about the inventory but I never carry anything around with me. Usually it goes like this:
apply all buffs, scout the dungeon beforehand with the ocolus, then run through it, killing everything.
After everything is cleared I start to loot all bodies and chests and just destroy everything since I always invested in the metallurgy skill. that way I never used any "increase weight limit" stones and never had to scroll around in the inventory.
I never stashed stuff in my houses since holding on to sweet high-lvl stuff is mute, once you get that level you already found something better. A few skills are useless, especially stamina and lockpick. I opened master locks with only 1 point and a 3point skill crystal.
I finished the game with the first pair of trousers I got in Bayan from Alima and a harlequiin costume (it has another name but looks like it).
PS: sorry sulphur, coudn't resist and care less

It's all right if you don't care because, honestly, most people wouldn't either when faced with an incomprehensible spew like your last post.

that makes me so sad, I will go cry in a corner. Nice to see that proper form and personal rants are still more important here than post content or the topic of the thread. I look forward to your impressions Warcrow after ... you reached Hatmandor, this is where you either love the game or stopped playing.

Oh, grow up. I'm saying that most people aren't going to take any effort to read all you've written if it's that large and scattered and unreadable. You may be used to making these thought-dumps in your little journal, but they're not readable to people who're used to things like syntax and formatting, which is just about, oh, the rest of the world.
And isn't that why you're posting to begin with? So that other people can read what you've written?

At this point I'm mostly curious if the game can actually pull it off, but I'll certainly report back--I'm open to anything at this point. :)

Thanks people for your first reports about the game two world 2. I did enjoy Arcania Gothic 4 despite of some faults, so do you think i will enjoy Two world 2? The game right now costs 50 euros in my local stores and the special editon costs 60 euros , so as you can see i need to make sure that the few money ive got is well aplied in that game...afterall i love Gothic and oblivion games style.

Why don't you just pirate the damn thing and try it out for yourself? We can't tell you what you'll like.

I hated Gothic4, TW2 is a much better game imo. So I can't say if you can enjoy TW2 if you enjoyed G4 but on a technical+gameplay level (even voiceover) TW2 is lightyears ahead.
The only pirated version of TW2 I know of needs to be activated via phone using a keygenerator.....I would not do that.
The special edition afaik gives you one quest more where you can obtain a skill not present in the "normal" edition or that you have to buy in a shop otherwise. I must confess, as a warrior all you need is a lance and a hammer/mace, both two-handed and you can use most of the skills with them. especially a lance is very overpowered since you can perform 360 degree moves even without the skill (radial barrage). The combatmoves overall are very satisfying and change depending if you sprint/walk/block or attack.
PS: tw2 is 45€ on gamersgate
