Not Gaylesaver fan. Everyone thinks that till a "How you get you name thread" pops up about every 3 years or so.
Green Lantern silver age comics fan.
So sorry again Lytha. Honestly no idea what to even say.

Why, Alchemist, just...why?
Sorry to hear this Lytha. You've always got friends here. Hope you kick the shit out of this thing.

My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001. She went through all the same sorta stuff as you Lytha... for about 4 years or so. She fought her way through the Chemo and some operations and a truck load of visits to the doc. It was pretty hard for her... and for her closest family. Hubby and Kids. REALLY hard.
... and for all of us who loved her too, you know?.
Today, she is fine. A bit skinny. A bit pissed off. But still with us. It sucked all her courage up. But she's ok today. Spitting out chips. :) Laughing. Crying. Mother. Wife. Sister.
Tougher than me. Her name is Christine.

Hang in there Lytha, and stop trying to second guess your doctors - it'll only drive you insane. I should know, I've seen people do it loads of times. They get caught up in the individuality of their case, for obvious and valid reasons, whilst doctors treat based on evidence of best effect.
That's not to say that you shouldn't get individualised treatment but a lot of the time we can only tell you so much because that's all science knows. The rest is up to the fates. Some people start off with a low level malignancy that usually has a high chance of total removal but for them turns out to have spread more quickly and aggressively than usual, and vice versa. Don't dwell on it, just go with the flow. I know it's hard to chillax (I know how hard I'd find it) but it'd be great to see you take this thing on as just another of life's tests that you fit around the rest of it.

I hate cancer too. Keep a journal. People find the most interesting observations when faced with their own mortality. I know... I know... I'm WAY behind on mine. lol
Be a keeper the "oh well, that can happen" attitude! It can serve you well. Its been over a year and a half since Catherine (my wife) lost her life in a car accident. I never would have thought I would be a widower at 39. I'm still pretty messed up, but that very same attitude saved me much grief, guilt and inner conflict. Even idiot taxi drivers can be funny if you paint it in the right light. Keep the faith, Lytha!
Thank you for being you!
