If that creature was one of Victoria's then, or involved in the Mosley/Pagan thing. . then T2X is wrong, isn't it? It couldn't have been a semi-unrelated beast created by a party that had no place in the original plot.
It was never specified who or what it was. The player is left to draw their own conclusions. So T2X could well have discribed what happened.
Even though T2X is fanon, I like to think of it as closer to canon than most other things. Actually, more so than T3.

It is making more sense now. I know Mosley was working for/with the Pagans, and I remember finding her keys at the scene of the crime. . .although given what the guard saw I sort of wrote it off. If that thing got off via the balcony, it wasn't Mosley.
Truart was using the city guard to protect his own home. As a result, the city guardsmen, including Mosley, had the keys to his home. Whatever creature Viktoria sent couldn't have been huge since it had to be able to fly. As a result, it wouldn't just be able to smash in the door without a problem - and even it if did that would have attracted the attention of the nearby guards. Mosley handed over her keys so that the creature could get into where Truart was with a minimum of fuss.
The other proof that the Pagans were behind the killing is the lone Pagan spy hiding out in one of the unused buildings near the start.

Even more proof that the Pagans were behind the killing comes from the note in 'Trail of Blood' that says they were :p

Jeez, I never read anyhting, unless it does the New/Completed/Secret Objective noise, or if it is funny/emotional/disturbing. You now, reads that are INTERESTING.
I can't imagine playing Thief without reading the books and notes. It would be like playing Doom or Quake or one of those other "go everywhere & shoot everything" FPS games (shudder). Discovering the story is half the fun for me, more than half in a well-written mission.
