Unexplained reaction. - by buglunch

In Castle Clinton, I did all non-lethal takedowns and for rest of mission I killed no-one, but Anna and others were pleased that I had turned the Castle into a morgue. The only possible causes for this were that I accepted the gas LAMs from the UNATCO grunts further on and my turret-hacking in the warehouse killed some NSFers. Why did this give me a killer rating back in C.Clinton area? Pissed me off and changed the game's direction, I think!

Sadly, the Castle Clinton thingy seems to depend almost entirely on whether you entered the castle by the front door. If you did, you are a mean, badass killer. If you didn't, you aren't.

It won't change the plot significnatly, though.

I didn't enter CC through front way; may have exited that route.Would that do it?

Is there a similar way to avoid this reaction on the first level? You know, where Paul says 'You killed a lot of people today'? I'm starting the game over and trying to do everything different...

For the first level, just don't kill anyone. Use the baton -- aim at the middle of the back, and they go down on the first whack, even on untrained low tech. Takes a bit of practice, though. And make use of various noisy devices to move grouped terrorists out of position so you can take them out one at a time.

And accept the tranq bow from Paul at start and use it lots.

few NSF. 4 or 5 I think.

Non-player made kills do not seem to count. So get the enemy's attention and lure them where one of the security bots is. Obviously they don't stand a chance against the bots and will get killed.
Surprisingly Paul is one of the first ones to start shooting at the NSF with his assault rifle should he ever be provoked.
I'd say the best pick is the GEP Gun as the mini-crossbow can be gotten easily in the beginning and the sniper rifle too.

I need all the lovely slots the GEP takes up!
