The dark engine, you have to love it's weirdness, and it's quirks. It will remain a mystery on some levels, just like Garrett is a mystery, a bit fitting, don't you think?

What's the dark engine? If it's in one of the later levels of T2, please don't tell me, I'm only just squashing my first machines.

It's the game engine Thief runs on.

Thief 1 & 2. I'm unsure what the third one uses.

I believe it's the Unreal game engine . . . might be wrong, though.
gold 'ol dark engine - I ran across something really friggin odd in TDP a long time ago, but sadly don't remember what it was.

Thanks. I now know about Dark Engine. I also know about Drom Editor. I didn't know when I asked. Sorry to bother.

To continue what imperialreign had said, Thief:DS's engine is the Flesh Engine, a highly modified version of the Unreal 2.0 engine ;)

Yeah, that engine is definitely better than the one used in TDS!!
