I have been to Hazelshade before but I must have traipsed through a bit too quickly- I'd assumed that those were water brushes with improved textures and the sloshing sounds removed. They're quite obviously not. Really brilliant effect! I'm surprised more FM authors don't tinker with it. I suppose this adds to a mission's brush/item counts... :erg:

The faux-bump map trick using low-poly bumps on bricks like the 3d-ish walls in doom 3... yeh, that post meant something to me. Why did the mod delete it?!
It sounds like a cool (yet sorta impractical) trick for slip to use in the eponymous project.

I think that post was in the Ashen Age thread. As nice as it would be it's not possible as far as I know - maybe with ddfix? Probably far out of gamut for what Dark can do.

The fog on top is NV's Hazelshade technique - but I just made the fog patches myself in photoshop (I think he did the same thing).
