The setting is unavoidably "Cradle" like - but the similarities should end there (hopefully!)

The globe lamps are kinda neat - they're spotlights pointing upwards with a wide radius (almost 360degrees) so that all that's left is the shadow beneath. Kind of a pain because you can't (to my knowledge) direct the spots without rotating the model so I had to flip the model before conversion so the spot would point upwards.
You might have achieved a similar effect by simply giving their light/animlight prop a Z offset of +1 or +2, although I'm sure you're not going to go back and change them now. :D

About how big is the building going to be?

The only way that would work though would be if I had Object Sys->Immobile checked on (which I don't want) - or am I misunderstanding?

I'm planning on it being fairly big. Right now a 260x220 area brush just fits around it, but there's a fair bit of unused space as the building isn't square. Right now it's 2 floors, soon to be 3 with a most unpleasant basement.:ebil:

Everyone's been saying it looks like the Cradle, but you never said it was an asylum. Is it?

I'd love to divulge that info but I have to keep things under wraps. You'll just have to wait and see!

To be honest I'm not sure. I had planned to have it ready for beta within the month. The problem is, is that while I feel the story is pretty solid I'm having lot of issues about how it should unfold. I want this thing to be scary, but at the same time I want to make sure it's fun to play. Basically, I love the plot but I don't want to blow it with bad gamplay decisions!

Slip - you're right, of course. What I suggested changes the illumination of the light itself, but not shadow creation unless you also set Immobile.
Anyway, enough tech talk, on with the show! Don't rush on account of us dying to see it, make it right! :cheeky:
