I'm guessing that if anyone knew anything about a new update, they probably wouldn't post publicly about it here in the forums. The last update only came out less than 3 months ago - are you looking for a specific bug fix in particular?

I think it's a shame that this awesome work has to be done in the secret chamber, but I hope the developement goes on as this really keeps the community alive (like other great projects, like HD texture mod or the HD model mod do). :)

The source code for these games has never been officially released, just leaked. So these engine updates aren't strictly legal, even though they're being officially distributed on GOG and Steam via pre-patching. It's an odd situation.

Been tried many, many times over the years with no good results. Eidos/Square Enix is just a big corporate entity that doesn't seem very interested in cooperating with the community. I doubt they even care that New Dark exists or is being worked on secretly.
