I've found the
Special collections storage safe in the attic, but I can't get into it. The glyph lock appears when I get close enough but I don't know the right combination of glyphs. I don't recall ever finding anything like that in the readables. I mean, I have a translation of what each glyph means, but that's it.Have you read the memos in the main office files? Have you looked through the Bursar's office? That's what you should concentrate on.

Also,
What do you use the spanner for? I thought it was for the Armillory Sphere, but it doesn't seem like I can use either item on each other. It should be pretty obvious once you find the right readable. Have you explored the Keepers' Chambers?
P.S. The answers to these and other questions can be found in the (

Actually, I have read the hint/loot list and there was nothing in there that explained or even hinted at the two troubles I posted.
I'll have a look through those keeper areas again, though.

 There is/are plenty in my copy!
The hints are called "The Storage Safe Passcode" and "Where is the Spanner?"

Oh! I got it. I had it all wrong. I didn't know the glyph puzzle itself was where I had to enter the storage safe passcode. I thought there was an actual safe behind that wall and I had to figure out what glyphs to use to open the wall and get to the safe. In my defense, I don't think that safe was labeled very well in any of the notes. When I hear "storage safe" and "storage safe passcode" I immediately think of one of those regular banker's safes with the number pad.
As for the spanner, though, the hints/loot list only shows you how to find it. . not what to do with it.

Exactly right,
You "had to figure out what glyphs to use to open the wall." No need to defend yourself. I'm sure that there could have been a better way to describe it that I didn't think of.

See if you can find the readable relating to it in Keeper Pauel's rooms. Once you read it you should be able to figure it out.

Thanks! I'll check his room again. .

And finished! That was an excellent and unique mission which I thoroughly enjoyed despite the puzzle difficulties (though I did figure out how to get the rat to drop the ring all by myself) and now I can't wait for the next installment!
The only criticism I can think of is concerning the readables. I generally like lots of readables when they add to the story or advance the mission, but I got really really frustrated at the readables that were just random nonsense that had nothing to do with the task at hand and would never be of use. . and these are the ones that always seem to be the longest. There seemed to be more than a few of these in the mission and I just ended up impatiently skimming through them without reading them.
Other than that, keep up the good work! :thumb:

I made it past the glyphs and into the little room with the Grimoria Necromantica book but it's locked. I kept trying to pick it open with the lockpicks but Garrett just keeps saying "oops". How do I unlock this?Do I need the "exhibits key" for this?
Tannar on 11/2/2012 at 16:02
If he says "oops", you used the wrong lockpick. Each time you use the right one, he'll say something like "hmmm".
cavador_8 on 11/2/2012 at 16:33
Thanks Tannar. I got it now. Now on to the ritual objective. Not sure how to do that one. I just read through the Hints and Spoilers from LarryG and I don't anything related to the ritual. Did I miss that?
