I can't get the game ot load in garettloader.... it automtaically reverts to the original game.... tried version 1 and version 2, but no success.:nono:

There must be something wrong with your GL installation, then. I used GL exclusively with no issues during development and testing. But GL is a bit flaky and now unsupported for a couple of years.

I suggest that you install the 1.20 New Dark patch and use built in FM loader instead of GL. All future updates that I make to Finals (and the subsequent missions in the campaign) will only run on the (then) current version of New Dark. And it's soooooo much better and more reliable then 1.18. Truly.:thumb:

There's a button on each side of the door. You must have frobbed one or the other.

The mission we're talking about is for Thief 2, not Thief 3. Are you certain that all these things (especially installing and patching Thief 3) are necessary to solve the GarrettLoader-related problems in this case?

I'm not 100% sure about T2... Yes, the patch is for T3. Sorry, my bad. Perhaps you should follow LarryG's suggestion and use New Dark Patch 1.20.

Now NewDark 1.21. No reason not to use the latest version.

After reading a book, note etc. and the "scribble" sound plays, on checking "Garrett's journal", there are no notes recorded. Played this FM before and had no problem with anything that time. Any ideas why these readables are not being recorded? Thanks.

(I'm playing version 2.0 and my Thief has been Tafferpatched with all that New Dark loveliness - thanks :) )

Update: I've installed a fresh Thief 2 and added latest patches/New Dark. Played game via DarkLoader and the inbuilt FM loader in New Dark - the readables are still not being recorded in the notes :(
At a loss as to what else to try...

Are you starting from a save game or starting over from the beginning? You may have a corrupted save game. Also you can't use a save game from 1.18 when playing using 1.21. Try starting over from the beginning.
