It's in a room full of sarcophagi in the area on the far side of the maze, not in the academy at all.

OK, now I have a request. I haven't a clue in doing a ritual. Just that the objective says to do one. I'm at the never ending stairs and there is a fountain. I have all kinds of things in my inventory. I need a potion. Do I go back to the Academy and make a potion and if so, how?
I'm so close to being done and I guess I'm concentrating on finishing instead of enjoying. I'm in my 8th hour.

You don't need to make a potion. You just need to get up the stairs. There are three ways to do that.

There are 3 ways to get up the stairs.
Hints:
1. Did you find the babelfish note? It would be wise to look in your inventory for something that would make sound. Then look very closely at the walls as you climb.
2. One involves knowledge and fire. Do you have anything in your inventory that a scholar would use?
3. Have you found any rope anywhere in the mission? If so, what have you done with it?
