There is no time limit to get rid of thieves.
There is time limit to open the door after that.
You are not supposed to kill all thieves quickly and then to go to collect loot... but of course, you can try.

Thanks Zontik, an enjoyable little mission and certainly different. Only one complaint:
It would have been nice to be able to explore that lovely house before they trashed it :laff:

Anyone else want to see this mission turned upside down? (Again?)
I'd like to be one in a party of thieves, with the goal to steal the most before the guard catches you all.
There could be a loot counter so you know who's in the lead.
