Hi fellow taffers ;)
I haven't been here for a while but lately I've slowly started making progress on my next Thief 2 FM again.
When I wanted to continue however textures (especially the inside of airbrushes) have begun to disappear when moving away from them, or sometimes they look distortioned all the time. This only happens when the Light Bright setting is off, and from what I can see it does not happen in-game when testing.
I tried a fresh install of Dromed v1.23 to no avail. Personally I think it has something to do with something that I did before, namely transferring my mission to my other computer to proceed there. I think there may have been a difference in Dromed versions (between 1.22 and 1.23, but not sure in what order I transferred it to), but from what I remember, the last time I touched my mission it was after the transfer to my other PC and I hadn't experienced any problems then.
I tried portalizing, optimizing, Full generations etc..
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thank you in advance!

When you say Light Bright is off, I wonder if you are using that old command, which is no longer supported in NewDark, along with the old Light Objects command. Now there is a single command toggle_lighting which does both at once. The NewDark docs say to use toggle_lighting only.

I use the Toggle lightning command, I'm just used to calling it Light Bright as I've mapped for v1.18 as well :cheeky:

You might want to check if that textures has transparency. Where did the textures came from?

It happens on the default Thief textures too. I'm going to try to open the mission on my other machine now and see if the same happens there. I'll report back in this post
Edit: Ok so there are no issues there at all on the exact same mission file. Obviously it has something to do with my laptop then (which is where I want to continue mapping). If it's not the Thief installation, what could it be? Dromed worked fine before, and it's a very decent laptop as well.

Geforce GTX 860M (I use this one for Dromed obviously)

Try to enable
d3d_disp_no_rgb10_buf
(remove semicolon)
in cam_ext.cfg

Are you getting any errors when optimizing? I'll have to wait til I get home to "remember" the error I had but it was causing whole brushes to disappear.

Didn't work unfortunately, thanks though.
@john9818a: Not getting any errors when optimizing. I just noticed that when I open other FM's the lightning usually doesn't work at all in edit mode.
It's not a REALLY big issue, but it's nice being able to edit with real lightning now and then, and I'm also afraid that it will make my mission file corrupt at some point.

Is this a sunlight mission?

No sunlight :erg:
