You fucks are making me want to replay the damn game. I always played as a Gangrel. I tried a Nosferatu, but meh. Too strange. Any recommendations for a build? Maybe a Brujah would be fun. I just love brawlers.

I just reinstalled. Have a question though about the patches. Seeing as I've played the game four times already with only the official first patch, I'd like to try one of the fan made patches. However getting really confused about the "true" patch and the "unofficial" patches.
Apparently there's two versions. One that keeps it basically the same game with bug fixes, and another changes the gameplay somewhat. Can I apply both patches so that I'll get both, or do I need to choose one over the other?

I think generally the bug fixes are the same in both, it's just that one changes the gameplay and one does not, so it's a binary choice between the two. ZylonBane could perhaps clarify better than I can though.

Nope, that's exactly the difference. The standard version is bugfix-only, the "Plus" version adds new stuff. It's mostly just restoring missing content, but purists get tetchy about even that, hence the two versions.

ZB's talking about WESP's 'unofficial' patch, now up to V5.8 (IIRC) which provides either basic (bugfix only) and plus versions in the same file, and to which he contributed. Recommended wholeheartedly.
The 'true' patch was put out by someone (speak not his name, lest he appear) most famous for making nudie mods for every game under the sun and putting the D-R-A-M-A into drama queen, and large parts of it were excised from the 'unofficial' patch.
You want the 'unofficial' patch, needless to say.

Only way to play the game is as a Malkavian.
With lots of points in talky skills and Dementation.

As winged mentioned, being a Malkkavian is loads of fun. Its whacky. Brujah, I haven't played yet, being a Malk is my favorite.

Haha. Yes, seems there is some animosity about which is the better mod, er patch. I actually downloaded the "other" patch, however haven't installed either yet.
However I did like the idea of getting more backstory about the clans with the "true" patch. Seeing as I've completed the game 4 times with just the 1.2 official patch, for this playthrough I'd like to see as many changes in the gameplay as possible. Will this "plus version" give what I'm looking for?
Oh and BTW; I did check out some of his nudie mods, and whether he's a drama queen or not, he is talented!

Why would you assume the graphics will suck? You do realize Bloodlines came out barely four years ago, right? Its graphics are easily on par with those of Half-Life 2.
Yeah, and the funny thing is I would say Bloodlines graphics are actually
better than FO3's when it comes to the NPC's. I should clarify that I mean when talking to NPC's.
EvaUnit02 on 22/11/2008 at 03:10
Fallout 3's piss poor animation cannot hold a candle to Bloodline's.
