Vandenburg: Can't get into Sec. Bldg. - by e5c4p3_artist

I've just completed everything in the first part of Vandenburg and am ready to meet Jock so he can take me to rescue Tiffany. However, I just realized that I have never been inside the Security building located just outside of the main building. There's a button to open the door, but it says it is OFFLINE. How the heck do I get into this building?

This might be completely wrong and foolish so forgive me in advance. But... How did you kill the bots? Did you just use brute force or did you turn the power on and activate the "friendly" security bots?
If memory serves, the security building contains these security bots. I gained entry after locating the keypads and turning on the power (they are in two areas of the base - I forget where, one's outside near the snipers, the other's inside somewhere).

I disabled the enemy bots right at the start. First I sniped the guards below. Then, while still on the roof, I took one bot out with a rocket, one out with an EMP grenade (or two), one out with an EMP blast from my spy drone, and one out with a LAM. I'm not reading spoilers or walkthroughs in advance, so I had no idea that there was a better way of handling them later on.
As for the keypads, I have found one - outside the building. When you activate it the word override appears above it.
Can anyone tell me where the other one is? I'm sure I'll find it sooner or later - I'm not leaving without getting in that building.

Okay, I found it. Since I took out the bots a different way, this objective wasn't necessary and I almost forgot about it. I found the second keypad and activated it too now.

Yeah. You should probably try that mission again by activating the friendly security bots. It's a lot of fun to see them waste the other bots while you stand back and laugh maniacally (of course).

Excuse me, but I don't think the friendly bots can waste all the enemy bots without your help. That's what TNT crates are for.

Actually, the friendly bots can take out the bad bots, but it's not a sure thing. I usually just kill the bad bots myself just because I like to kill bots.
My favorite incident: I released the good bots but didn't go to the Communications Building right away, so Tony and the two mechanics came running out to meet me -- and the good bots gunned them down.

What I usually do on this mission (just to clarify) is take out the smaller bots myself and leave the bigger ones up to the friendly bots. It's quite a sight just watching them walk up to each other and set their chain guns on automatic at point-blank range.
