Yeah, I read it. Per the usual, people are being oversensitive fuckwits over the sensationalized/fictional portrayal of a character based loosely on someone who is such a tragic figure that they were completely unaware of her 3 days ago.

See, this is why I pity the youth of today.

They shouldn't have used her image if the relatives disagreed, even someone based on her.
mothra on 13/5/2009 at 13:18
agreed. they could have just said "in memory/honor of those resistance fighters blabla" if they wanted to give it a more "realistic" touch......damn, I need my fix of sneaksie-ness, especially after T4 has been announced for release in....say....2011.

The game isn't fucking based on Violette Szabo. It was *inspired* by her. There's a pretty substantial difference there.

I have to say I think that's splitting hairs, Jason, particularly when you have quotes like (

From the start we've wanted a game with a strong female lead that
stays true to the history of Violette Szabo while pulling players into a world of dark intrigue.

Sounds like the Creative Director should talk to other people in the company, since their vision for the game was apparently substantially different.

I don't think I've read a preview, review or interview about this game that didn't mention Violette Szabo. You can't deny that the developers have done everything they (legaly) could to give you the impression that this is a game about Szabo.

The impression that I got from all previews / reviews I've seen is that you are playing Violette Szabo, as far as they can legally make the game about her without actually using her name (or the ending to her story, which isn't exactly computer game material).
