Oh for fuck's sake.
Oh, you have no idea how picky I've become, when it comes to video games. :) As for this 'nazi killing' WW2 thing, I'd be willing to play a game like that only if it was either a hardcore tactical shooter (well, at least as hardcore as Hidden&Dangerous 2 was), or a hardcore stealth game (what Velvet Assassin isn't).

Well it's probably not hardcore stealth, you're right, but it's the best stealth game in a while and probably for a while. So I'm enjoying it so far.
Have you seen any gameplay videos? Check this one out:

It's the second level, and the guy isn't the best player, but you can see what it's like. There are also a few ways to do things. It's not entirely linear. For example, in the video, when the guy picks up a gas mask, there's a better, stealthier way to enter that room, from the back.
Oh and the guards have funny barks, just like in Thief. They hum and sing songs, and say stuff like "Schnapps is good" (in German).

Some of my gripes w/it include some of the mistakes that Thief-Deadly Shadows made. The 'loot glint' is ridiculous, as it includes almost ANY interactive item (like fuse boxes and such). Plus the whole "Push 'A' to Kill" bullshit auto-murder icon is laughably retarded. It almost goes out of its way to ruin any and all immersion you may have had. Don't get me started on that whole 'Morphine a-la Max Payne mode' either.
It is sad that this is the only othewise decent stealth-em-up in recent memory, and the only one in the near future. It had potential, it just tried too hard to cater to the masses. Ironically, it probably won't sell shit.

I agree, yeah, the glint and the icons could've been thought out better. But it doesn't detract that much. And I never use the morphine mode. It seems like cheating.

I didn't either. For the very same reason. But it also was just way too WTF, and didn't fit in at all.

Like in the video I posted above, the guy uses the morphine mode but he doesn't have to. Even on the previous level ((
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jA0s_Utnal8&fmt=18)), where the game tells you you can use it to get inside the bunker, you can get there without it. So I don't think I'll ever use it, unless I'll absolutely have to at some point.

Fair enough. My comment was mostly due to the usual kneejerk reaction I see around here about games set in WW2.
