You have to 'buy' it, but as the coupon code negates the price, it doesn't ask for credit card details or anything.
It seems to be a strategy/god game. Not sure if it's my cup of tea, really, but if the aim is to get more people to play it, then this is a good way to go about it :)

Played it for about 10 minutes, with the result as above. The only fun I got out of it was when I saw the message "Cannot impregnate a juvenile". Are they sure it's a game for kids??

A quote from the developer.
Quote:
Thanks! Yeah, I've been struggling with breaking through to a wider audience... partly because people assume the games are for kids only. Really my philosophy has always been along the lines of Discovery Channel programming -- animals appeal to kids but the subject and the strategy are really intended for an older audience. I also wonder how much gamers shy away from it because it sounds like a trendy "eco" game, when in fact I designed and started working on it before the Arctic was cool, no pun intended Smiley I was never sure what kind of effect An Inconvenient Truth would have on sales of the game. It originally came out in May 2007 and hasn't sold well. There's plenty of reasons why, of course, but I still think it's gotten short shrift. So that's why I'm giving it away for now! I'm proud of it and I want people to give it a play or two, maybe it can find a few new fans!
