On thief III the graphics are really bad for some reason, they look like they're unfinished. Here are some shots

I've checked the FAQ and couldn't find anything helpful. I'm not very tech-savy, can someone explain how to fix this in cro-mangon?

I would start by uninstalling and then reinstalling the game, as it looks like it may have problem with the textures.
If this does not work can you please list your system specs?
CPU, RAM, version of Windows and graphics card should be sufficient.
You can find the first three by right-clicking My Computer and selecting Properties.
You can then find the graphics card by clicking Hardware > Device Manager > Display Adapters

I have unisnstalled twice to no avail. Anyways, I followed your insturctions and it says "Radeon X800 GTO" and "Radeon X800 GTO Secondary"

It looks like the card is overclocked (the green artifacts on the left edge of the screen shots) Also check to see if there's a stray Kernel_GFXALL.ibt file in "My Documents\Thief - Deadly Shadows" folder. Also TDS is problematic with ATI cards & the radeon may not be displaying the *.dds textures correctly (I know nvidia had issues with the DXT1 compressed dds files). Try John P's hi-res textures:

It looks as though TDS can't find the textures to load. Look in your TDS folder under CONTENT\T3\Maps to see if Kernel_GFXALL.ibt is actually there.
Here's another link to check out:
(
http://ttlg.com/wiki/index.php?title=Graphics_Card_Issues) (this is mainly for the editor).
EDIT: actually the Kernel_GFXALL.ibt is mainly for the UI & player (player model & textures, animations, etc.). The textures in the maps are stored in their *.ibt file like HammerIntro1.ibt. Or the material libraries are corrupted or missing (found under CONTENT\T3\Matlib)

But well, it looks interesting. Some kind of abstract. :erg:

Those images resemble a DirectX problem perhaps? Should open up DXdiag to see if there are any problems? Perhaps reinstalling directx may solve the problem.
