So I was watching this trailer for DS ((
http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi1962737945/) http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi1962737945/) and around 1:10 I see a cutscene I've never seen before. Is that in the game?

I don't recognize it either. Perhaps it was an xbox only scene? The vid is evidently a promo from xbox, so maybe it never made the pc version. IDK.

Random promotional scene, most likely. I never accepted how arrows are depicted to go ALL THE WAY THROUGH a person as if he or she is made out of some sort of soft fruit.

(Still waiting for the above mentioned video to download.) Speaking of TDS videos, I've been trying to find the TDS cutscenes somewhere online and all I've found so far is a bunch of fan-made short clips, with the exception of one actual cutscene (or studio produced video) from TDS, on IGN.
I'd originally tried to convert the TDS .bik files to .avi, but after trying Prism, Rad Video, Media Converter, and AVS, I finally gave up. The Rad program came the closest, but still when I played the converted avi file on WinMedia, the screen was split (top & bottom) and there was a constant buzzing noise that overrode the dialogue. Plus the colors were all goofy.
During my search for programs that could convert bik to avi (or wmv) I stumbled upon this one video interview with a young geek-type person (meant affectionately), whereupon he proceeded to expound on bik files. Since I've got dialup, the interview downloaded in a somewhat disjointed manner, but I got the gist of it. He said that some bik files were totally unconvertable since the game-makers didn't want them to be viewed outside of the game.
I visited the Eidos site and found three TDS trailers, but nothing else concerning the cutscenes. So; I was wondering if there is a site anywhere that already has all of the TDS cutscenes available? If not, is there a way I can record them from the game itself?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Just an fyi. I'd been trying to find a way to convert the TDS bik files to avi or something I could actually play outside the game when I went to YouTube and found ALL the TDS cutscenes! Yep! A person who calls himself GarrettTheThief (he's from Finland) has uploaded
all of them; plus, he's created some very good Thief videos of his own. Check it out:

So now it's 'fess up time. I figured this guy's GOT to be a member of TTLG, right? I've PM'd him asking that question and told him that if he isn't a member yet, he really needs to come on over & join up. Imho this guy's a serious Thief fan and someone I think we'd all welcome to our little community.

They're Bink files... why didn't you just go to the Rad Game Tools site and (
http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm) download the Bink player?

Already tried that, ZB. The files are too copyright-protected to convert properly (at least on my PC) even using Rad. Ended up having to do things in a rather convoluted but in the end successful manner.
Thanks anyhow.
