Only the cradle could do this... it gives me shivers even watching it!

Yeah, I plan on making a part 5 soon.. I just got too scared to continue - I have a new PC now so it shouldn't be so choppy, by the way - why are you claiming credit for them?
I had to play in 800x600 (possibly lower I think) to get it to be that "smooth" - my new pc rocksyoursocks so it'll be smooth =)
By the way, I read about that after i'd finished the level - I didn't see no puppet shadow =(

Yeah, you have to go quick in to see it. As soon as you reach the metal grating in front of the reception bit, then it runs, but quite quickly. Im amased it was possible to take a screenie of it.
As for the credit thing, sorry, but I assumed you were just an avid gamer and didnt have an account on this board. At any rate we were only thanking cobhc for finding and sharing these videos. All proper credit goes to you of course.
What difficulty setting is this one on?
Haegan on 18/6/2006 at 12:23
The only un-realistic part of the movie, is that when I first saw the puppets, I didn't realise they were undead (i hadn't yet joined ttlg.) so I let loose a barrage of fire arrows, mines, oil and god knows what else.
Cardel on 18/6/2006 at 18:22
I presumed that whatever would live in a house like that was undead anyway, so I actually found out they were undead by chucking flashbombs/holy water before even checking out what it was. This was partly aided by the explanations in the loading screen about "Undead are rumoured to be damaged by bright flashes of light." Which was purely coincidental, most of the other times I just get a quote from a keeper when I go through the Cradle's loading screens.

Whoa.
Coincidentally, I got an idea to make walkthrough videos of the Cradle myself just few weeks back and now this... well I'm not so original as I thought... :laff:
Those are pretty videos though, you have my credit cobhc.
But I'll make my own videos anyway! It's too late to brag with them at TTLG community, but perhaps I put them together on DVD, arrange them like some "gameplay horror movie" and show it to some people who have absolutely no idea what are computer games about today, thinking they're just toys for kiddies. Hehehehe... :ebil:

Those videos are quite entertaining. Kudos!
I do have an honest question, though, about your playing style. Instead of sneaking everywhere (like I tend to do, and I assumed pretty much everyone did), you're running everywhere. I don't mean "everywhere you go, you run", I mean you seem to just be running around randomly. Do you normally play like that, or are you just bored or something? I would've thought those kind of antics would get you turned into mincemeat on most levels.
You even keep getting halfway to the podium (in the room with the children's beds), and then suddenly decide to run back down the stairs. What's up with that? Is that panicking?
Rogue Keeper on 22/6/2006 at 08:10
Yeah, I think he was trying to simulate "panic" and confusion when he heard the knocking and he was trying to determine where it comes from. Or something. I must say this wild running around is somehow killing the tension and atmosphere of the place. But then constant sneaking would be eventually boring for the audience.
For maximum impression from a gamepley video like this it's a matter of "tension craft" to find the right balance between sneaking and quick action. I played Cradle only two times and it took me about 5 hours to finish it (I wasn't in hurry at all), but while the player is engaged in the gameplay, the audience is in role of passive observers and they get bored quickly by long unproductive sequences. If I approached the Cradle like a movie experience, I would explore the Outer Cradle for about 10 minutes, just to build up the atmosphere and prepare the audience for horrors the Inner Cradle.

New pc, so had to start cradle again.. didn't like my first video there - so redid it.
no running about this time, well... almost :P

You missed the puppet at the start again! :eww:
Has Garrett lost his legs in this movie? Edit: I see he finds them as soon as he spies that puppet! :laff:
