I just noticed that the Vision biomod is also x-ray specs -- for example, you can see a greasel's skeleton when using the Vision Enhancement biomod. (you see the clawlike skeleton underneath the wings.)

Er, the level it's at in the demo.
For humans, you can't see past the armor -- though you can see the head inside the helmet.
